Sim who asks for mark of Edith functionally becomes Edith

I have the same bug. Never used cc either. Only started after the last two kits.

Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.110.294.1220
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All of them
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? having sim one sim get the mark of edith that's engaged and then have their partner try and interact
What happens when the bug occurs? One of my sims got the mark of Edith from the new life and death pack and now has functionally become Edith. The sim who asked for mark of Edith cannot be interacted with like a regular sim and it only displays the options you would see when interacting with Edith like "try to communicate and ask for mark of Edith" when selecting try to communicate it makes the sim glitch and lose their legs to crouch down to ediths height. The affected sim can interact with other sims like normal but cannot be interacted with.
What do you expect to see? Sim who asks for mark of edith functionally becomes edith
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

This happened to me, playing on PlayStation. It has been so frustrating! I was just about to get married and I can't!!!! I put so many hours into my character haven't even used cheats, but this not being addressed has made me quit playing for over a year!!!!! Hoping it had been fixed I finally logged in today and found nothing has changed. I've spent my time and a lot of money for absolutely nothing..............

I created a female Sim. She had a Science Baby with Grim. Then she married an adult Nyon Specter. My Sim completed Alice's Sorrow. Nyon went to talk with Edith so that he could get her mark to use in the well. After making his wish, which was granted, everyone started acting like Edith. I first noticed it with the female that I created. Then the toddler (science baby) had the same problem. Eventually no one in the household to communicate with anyone. Everyone just screamed at them like Edith does. I had to delete the game. {irritation} This was going to be a Legacy game. I was planning to run it for 10 generations. I really liked the way that it was developing.

This seems to still be happening. Two child sims in my family "attempted to communicate" with Edith and then went home after successfully becoming friends. However, they could no longer talk with each other except to "attempt to communicate" and any other sims in the house could also no longer talk with them except to "attempt to communicate." If anyone tries the action, a pop-up will appear (just like when talking with the actual Edith) that says Edith is open to communication.
I used the shift-click cheat and removed each child from the household and then added them back in, and that seemingly fixed the issue. However, it shouldn't be an issue in the first place. Since Edith is an actual feature of the game and not a glitch, mod, or cheat, speaking with Edith should be expected to function normally.
