[S] Sims Can't Go to Work in Rain

do you have this happening in all your saves/households or a specific one ?

I have only been playing this save/household for a while. I want to say I didn't have this issue is the beginning, but maybe it just wasn't raining enough and at the same time a sim was going to work.

I tried creating a brand new save to test it. How can I reliably get the rain to turn on and stay on? I don't play with weather cheats, but found 'weather.start_weather_event weather_rain_heavy_warm'. I entered the cheat late in the evening before work and it started raining that night. However, the rain let up about half an hour before the sim was due to go to work. How can I force the rain to turn on and stay on?

Ok, so I let my test save run another sim day and it seems like the bug is not there. One thing to note is that I have 2 adults and 1 child. One the first day, it wasn't raining when adult #1 went to work, but was raining when child and adult #2 went to school/work. Everyone went to work/school fine. On the second day it was raining when everyone went to school/work. This time for the child, when he got to the spawning off point, he walked in circles a few times, his avatar showed he was at school when I could still see him walking in circles and then he eventually disappeared from the lot and stayed at school. It didn't do this the first day. I have sometimes seen this walking in circles behavior in my other save.

Which lot are you playing on ? Could be some routing issue with the house/lot.

Did you test the same lot in another save ?

You can use the weather machine to change to rain. 

The lot with the bug is Pebble Burrow in Oasis Springs. The test lot without the bug is Crick Cabana in Willow Creek. I don't have time now, but will try later with the same lot in another save.

I don't use weather machine much, but didn't think it 100% gave the desired outcome. Especially with my test family that started with 0 skill. I suppose I could cheat handiness to the max. At that point I thought it would just be easier cheating weather directly to turn on rain, but maybe not.

I was able to do more testing. First I saved the house that I was experiencing the bug in to my library. I started a new save, put the house from the library on the same lot and moved in a new family. Two adults and one child were able to go to work/school fine one day in the rain.

Then I moved back to the save where I had the bug.
1. The first person to go to work was a newly aged up teen who graduated early and had a part-time job. I don't remember the bug with her before. She went to her job fine in the rain.
2. Second was an adult where I had the bug with her going to university in the rain. She has since graduated and gotten a full-time job. The bug returned when it was time for her to go to work in the rain. She went to the spawning point, faded out and then immediately faded back in and walked inside. Repeated attempts to send to work did the same thing.
3. Third was an adult where I don't remember having the bug. He went to work fine in the rain.
4. Last was an elder where I remember having the bug before. Curiously, this time he was able to go to work in the rain.

So it seems like it might be tied to specific sims rather than the entire household. Although I remember having the issue with the elder several times before, but not in the latest test. This save is on short lifespan and 28 day seasons. I am also playing in Oasis Springs where it doesn't rain much. It is currently winter in that save, the rainiest season in OS. And it was recently where I really started feeling the pain with the bug. So I am not sure if maybe more sims could have possibly been affected but with short lifespan and not much rain, didn't notice it.

Not sure if there is anything else to do except just live with it for this save and either turn rain off entirely or when it interferes with a sim going to work. The elder that had the bug is almost at the end of his life.
