Sims can't use the computer without me having to manually making them sit first

Hi, I noticed that my Sims can't use the computer without me having to manually making them sit on the chair first. When I click on an interaction on the computer, the task just disappears. The only way to have them use the computer is to make them sit in the chair in front of the desk first, and then click on the task.

I've had this problem for at least a few weeks now. I play on a MacBook and I don't have any mods or cc. Wondering if anyone else has encountered the same issue..!
