Whenever I play with my sims, regardless of whether or not they like mischief, they will always do a random mischief action like scaring another sim or lying about their career and it will always be negative.

This has been a problem for a while. As Raseca is alluding too, this has been an open ticket, for a while, on the old Forum. We can hope that the move to this new Forum will bring renewed visibility to the issue and that it will be resolved so that Mischief aspirations, the Prank Day holiday, and general interactions can progress as intended.
And it's gonna be three years anniversary for this bug next week
I have the same issue and my sims dislikes mischief. So they are constantly doing mischief interaction and feel bad afterwards.
No, I don't have get famous, although I saw that being mentioned as well.
Just curious, do you have the Get Famous expansion pack installed? I find it fascinating how replies from the old bug report mention owning it will stop the mischief socials from always failing. (I don't have GF and also experience this issue.)
My sims who have amazing compatibility now hate each other. I have tried every thing to fix their relationship but the more I try the worse it gets. The minute i take my eyes off them they are mean towards each other. I now have 2 couples that this is happening to.
I thought it was the sims' personality, but apparently it's a bug. My game is like that too, they don't react well to mischief.
I honestly haven't played for a couple of years since this bug started happening. I just want my Sims to be goofy with each other without their relationship getting destroyed. Please please fix this.
