Sims do not collect dishes/dishes not recognized by a dishwasher

Try changing your ceiling light fixture. Replace the light temporarily with one of the cheap smaller saucer lights that don't hang down. Then go about your business and see if this fixes the problem. I had the same issue and figured out that the light was hanging too low and the sims, butler and maid would not clean the dishes from the table. I replaced the light with one that didn't hang as low and that resolved the problem. I didn't think the initial light was hanging that low to begin with but apparently they did. Hope this helps.
