I'm having a major issue with this too. It seems like it became a huge problem with a recent base game update. I deliberately avoided buying Lovestruck out of fear that it would mess up my committed Sims relationships. But it turns out it doesn't even matter anymore because everyone flirts with each other and Sims get upset left and right because their partners are cheating. This didn't used to be an issue! Sims who are in committed, loyal relationships shouldn't be open to flirting and cheating on their partners! Sims shouldn't be flirting with people outside of their preferences either! But all my Sims don't seem to care anymore, they'll flirt with literally everyone regardless of romantic preferences or relationship status. It makes it such a stressful and not fun experience to babysit your Sims and have to fix their relationships over and over. The relationship and lifestyle choices you make should matter. Please fix this! It's a huge bug :(
