I played the family reunion event with a couple of my sims of different households and they flirted (and other romantic options) with everyone even father winter and all of them were married or had partners.
And after the event ended they would not go home they stayed at my lot for hours.
I'm just experiencing my Sims not wanting to go home after events. I had a Christmas event and Mortimer Goth flirt with a senior male in the Sims' home and when I sent my senior Sim to bed Mortimer joined him while Bella Goth and another guest did things around the house together. They were flirting with my Sims every waking moment.
