Ideas
Vanilla game, new save after base game update, no CC, no mods.
Sims picks up book but can't hold it, books goes to floor and hand stays clenched.
This also happened when I had a Sim give another a foot massage, the hand stuck.
Resetting fixes it temporarily but it keeps happening over and over as soon as an item is touched.

I know this is a year later, but this has also been happening to me, and for some reason, they can't put the books away either, and then the hand gets stuck
