In my household, I have a sim who goes to work and two who go to school before the detective career starts. Since the latest update whenever I click “join” to go to work with my detective sim to play the career, it brings everyone who went to work/school home for the day (at 9am sims time). It’s just slightly frustrating as my sims are going down in performance at their jobs/school as a result. I’m just not sure if there’s a way to fix this or if I will have to wait for the next update.

I’m experiencing a serious bug in The Sims 4 that affects all careers in one of my saves. Whenever my Sim goes to work, they immediately return home as soon as I travel to another lot or world. The game acts as if their workday is over, even if it just started.
The issue happens with every job, including base game ones. I’ve tested it with and without mods, and the bug is still there. I’ve repaired the game through the EA App, deleted all cache files, tried new households, moved the Sim to another lot, switched careers, and even reset the game files entirely.
I’m playing on PC with the latest version of the game installed as of July 2025.
Is there any known fix or update coming for this issue? Thank you for your help.
I'm experiencing a very similar problem. For me my Sims go to work fine when leaving from home but not when traveling from any other lot. In those instances the Sim will travel back to their home lot, the workday will end and I'll get the "what a day of work" notification having earned one simoleon.
I have also tested without mods and a repaired game though not with every career, and though my issue is not as gamebreaking as the OP's it's still limiting my gameplay. Both of our issues are too similar not to be conected which is why I've commented here (appologies if that was incorrect)
I'm also playing on PC with the game fully updated. It should be noted that I only reinstalled the game a few days before the Planting Seeds of Enchantment update so I'm unsure if it's a newly introduced bug or not. I also don't own any expansion pack beyond Cottage Living (sadly)

Edit: Changing my work outfit back to default seemed to solve the problem for me. Sad that I can't wear my own outfit but happy to be earning a wage again.
I'm also experiencing this issue. I deleted all mods, cleared my cache, and repaired the EA App, and it's still not working.
This bug only happened after the Planting Seeds of Enchantment update.I have the same issue, and I also play on the PC. I have never had mods or CC. I have updated the game fully. I don't know if occurred before July 1 update, but I have just now noticed this bug.
same here, it happens with teens and everything too if u have the hs expansion etc. everyone will always come home if u accept a event or u travel home from a different lot when there at work or smthn, doesnt happen when there on the home lot so its been a pain in a but to remember to do that, and at least for me my sims cant woohoo in bed anymore but everwhere else they can
Hi, I experience the same problem. I saw at another forum that if you complete te event that is currently happening as much as currently is possible, it should be solved. So you can make another save file and play the event for like 30 minutes and the problem should be fixed for now. Havent tried it yet, but another player could confirm is. Hope it helped!

This happened a couple years back and was a bug that was fixed, but now it's happening to me again!! Making the game unplayable!!!
