Sims leave job/school after another sim travels

I have the same problem, without the game crashing. 

• Game is unmodded
• Does not crash
• I'm not playing any active careers 
• It happens with all ages. I've had it happen when I send adults, young adults, and elders to work. It's also happened when sending children and teens to school. 
• No last exception files

Haven't played in a few days because of life and all that. I checked on this to see if there's any updates yet. It's an annoying bug as it limits who can leave the lot and when. This only happened to me once after the July 1st patch, but then it started happening every time. Maybe when the event started? I can't say for sure. Since I saw a lot of people say it cleared up when they finished the event, I took a sim off the lot and can also confirm the sim away at work did not get recalled. Weird bug. Hopefully it doesn't come back with the next event as I enjoy playing with features I haven't previously paid attention to.

I can also confirm that this issue is directly linked to and caused by the Live Event. I finished all the Quests (except for the optional bonus ones) and now my Sims stay at work when other household members travel or go in/out of CAS, etc. Loading screens no longer cause sims to return prematurely from work/school. 

Side note: Chess tables also stopped working for me AGAIN during this Live Event. Now that I've completed the Quests, chess tables are working for me again. 

So I can all but guarantee you that nothing is going to be done about it. They'll just let players struggle until August 5th when the event ends and then the issue will just go away. Until the next Live Event.

EA - please give players a way to opt out of these Events or just stop them all together. Many of us are NOT interested in the events/rewards, yet they are forced on us and then often times they cause us to have to deal with significant game play issues for weeks on end. You really need to make this optional or just stop doing them. They cause too many issues with normal day to day game play for extended periods of time.

Can confirm finishing the Nature event fixed this for me. Additional info: I have NOT claimed all the rewards - I was leaving the simoleons payout for one of my poorer households. Furthermore I haven't  done many of the optional goals and so didn't have enough EXP to claim a couple of the rewards.

I am having the same issue. I had no issues with my sims going to work until this nature challenge. It's very frustrating because it wrecks job performance and household income. I can not advance my active career sims because I can't risk the non active career sim losing money. I'll be glad when it's August 5th

I’m on mac and have this as well. All my kids leave school in the middle whenever I load into the lot, even when first opening the game. 

I had that as soon as I started up the game today now that I think about it! Loaded the game and it immediately asked if I wanted my sim to miss work

Same here, PC with no mods. Sims leave work and school where I travel somewhere else. I typically always get the notification that they have returned home and they do not receive their full pay. Happened on multiple occasions and not fixed by restarting the game.

Hi, I'm french and I have the same problem.

 With job of others members, with hightschool, and my sim go to active work and if I go to crime scene or "patrouiller" or other place, the others members of familly go to home immediatly. If I'm not at home when all of they go to job or school, when I automaticly return at home, all family return at home immediatly. It's very difficult.
