i find that annoying aswell, but until it's fixed ( if they ever do change that kind of repetitive and excessive behaviours ) you can block use of the computers to specific sims, no one but the household or for everyone ( you chose ) and unblock it when your sims need to use it. It's not ideal but i've been using that a lot. For the rest of the objects i don't have any tips though. ( Sorry if there's any mistakes, english isn't my first language.)
