Unable to select traits in CAS

So I am playing on HP windows 11 never had an issue with the sims 4 traits. But lately ever since i updated the sims 4 (January 2026) I cannot had traits. I have deleted mods and CC, and joined back to see if it changed it did not, got mods back did not change. I have repaired it, and I have deleted the cache thing. I don't know what else to do.

Platform: PC (EA App)

Game version: latest update

Mods/CC: none (never enabled after update)

Issue:

In Create a Sim, traits do not appear at all.

No question mark icon, no trait categories, and traits cannot be selected.

This happens with new saves, adult Sims, and even randomly generated Sims.

What I tried:

- Repaired the game

- Removed all mods

- Deleted cache

- Tested with a fresh The Sims 4 folder

- Started the game in vanilla mode

Result:

Issue still occurs.

Expected result:

Traits should appear and be selectable in CAS.

Basically when i go create a sims and go to pick traits the 3 boxes are completely missing and can not pick any to play the game. Now i have deleted all mods and add ons and the traits are still not there. I have even uninstalled the game just to see that they were still not there. Please help!!!!!

I’m playing on pc with no mods or cc and am unable to add any traits in CAS after updates unless I randomize and then the traits are added blindly and I don’t find out what they are until I start playing the game. I am unable to bypass this by adding new Sims to the household or by any other method not involving cheats. I own all of the packs and expansions save for about three of the most recent kits.

I'm playing sims 4 on Mac version 1.120.117.1230. I don't have any mods currently installed I removed them, because of the issue I am having.

I am unable to see the sims 4 select traits hexagon. It is invisible.

I have already repaired my game, uninstalled and reinstalled it and I moved my sims 4 folder to my desktop and it's still not fixing the problem.

 Every time I launch my game it zooms in my computer screen and I am unable to see the full main menu and the options to select likes and dislikes.

I have no Idea what to try to fix this problem. I have recently bought and  installed the growing together pack and then all of this problems started. Please help!

I've deleted everything, my mods, my saved sims.. literally everything and my traits are still not working. I turned off the mods and scripts and I also repaired the game. I've gotten to the point where I had to ask chatgpt what to do and it still didn't work. I NEED THIS FIXED! I've been trying to play the game the past 3 days and i can't because it wont let me continue without my sims having traits. Someone help me please.

Ever since the november 2024 update, I have not been able to select traits for CAS. not sure if one of these updates messed the CAS up. 

This just happened to me too after the lates update. What do I do?
I am on a PC. I have no mods and no CC. 

• Okay, in the Sims 4 gameplay and CAS traits won't load. Only the milestone goal trait will and it's preventing my game from working properly. I do believe this is a big issue that needs to be looked at because a lot of people seemed to be having this issue also. At first, I thought it was without mods but I have tested it without the mods AND have repaired the game yet, still the same outcome.
• The picture is an example of what pops up everytime. When I first open the CAS to create a new character, the little traits pop up for a split second but then dissappear. This is what the traits look like when they are gone.
