Unable to select traits in CAS

I went to start a new game today (without mods, just after updating my game and installing a new pack) and the traits icons in Create A Sim had vanished. None of the usual fixes worked- I even started the game as if new and the problem persisted. 

Traits weren't selectable, rolling for random traits didn't make them reappear, unable to save sim

I'm playing on a macbook. 

Could you please provide the following information

• Are you using mods/cc in your game ? Please remove them and test without them if you do.
  -  What platform are you playing on (PC, Mac, Playstation, XBox)
• Is this what you are seeing: Unable to select traits in CAS | EA Forums - 4949337 ? 

All sims of any age are missing the option to assign traits!

Found that if I used the randomize traits thing, it at least lets you finalize your sim.  You may have traits that you don't want, but you can finalize and save.  I ended up with squeamish, cheerful, socially uncomfortable (or whatever that one is) and  another one I can't remember right now.  But, at least I didn't lose the character.

Same problem and situation with me.  I don't play with any mods.  And I was just making a new sim and I can't pick any traits and cannot finalize my sim either.    Didn't have a problem until this new event.

Is there any known solutions by now? I have the same issue. And its not my mods, i checked them all, did everything and the problem is still there. 

I currently have all of the available packs, and I am missing the base and pack traits. I see the packs are currently downloaded, and my existing families are able to be played fine. Any troubleshooting tips are welcomed! 

What packs do you have, and are you missing traits from packs or the base game? A few people, including myself, are having issues right now regarding packs being installed on the EA app but not showing as installed in the game.

Creating a new family, and I am missing the traits? I have exited out of Sims and EA, cleared my cache and cookies and then restarted but came across same issue.  I dont use or have any CC or mods that were/are downloaded.
