Upgraded fire-proof objects catching fire a lot

Fireguard is not working on fireplace.

Here is the fireplace upgraded with the fireguard feature... I might be wrong but I don't think it's supposed to start fires!

I am not running any cc's or mods with my game though I have before Life and Death's expansion.

I do not know what all to include for information (or where to include it)

I had a fire start from my fireguard upgraded fireplace, it caught the rug alight that was in front of it.

I installed the latest March update prior to playing that night and it happened about 3 minutes after loading into live mode. It didn't happen before that update.

I'm on PS4, no mods CC etc and I don't own For Rent.

  • am having this happen in multiple households now, not quite sure which update started it but seems to be sometime within the past year

  • I have constant fires , I have not had the cursed book event, The "bad luck" or "luck" option is turned off in my game, all my fireplaces are set to be fully upgraded, and yet, the fireplaces consistently combust into flames every 5 minutes.. Its actually insane and makes it really crazy to try to play. The fireplace this is occuring on is called the "Infernovision Wall Fireplace". It makes it so so so hard to play, until this is fixed you just cant have a fireplace in your house. - the fireplaces are fully upgraded (firegaurd is not working)

  • This is still happening with the Fireguard upgrade. No other traits or challenges or whatever else that can cause fires except objects near it. If placing objects near fireplace bypasses the fireproof upgrade then that's just stupid...

EDIT: 2nd fire in a row now ever since I posted this.

I had a fireplace in my sim's house for a long time with very few (if any) fires, then once I upgraded to fireguard, I get fires constantly. I just had one fire, put it out, went into CAS, and then came back out of CAS to another fire. All within maybe 10 game minutes. It seems like the issue might actually be the fireguard update.
