Windows and doors occasionally/often glitch into walls for no reason

Still happening, if anyone knows why id love to hear :) 

Same here. Clicking the doors/windows in build mode resets them, but it's unclear what causes them to... bleed together with walls (?) in the first place. PS4 here, so no mods, of course.

Maybe just a console glitch then, it's a tiny thing but so annoying 🤣

I'm on xbox, and it happens to me as well. Clicking on the door or window in build buy fixes it. I have had a few doors vanish after I leave build buy, and I suspect that its connected to this.

I also have this problem sometimes…  I've had this problem for so long that I'm slowly not even noticing it anymore. When this happens to me, all I have to do is go into build mode and fix it. I play on PS4

This was a reported bug on AHQ. It had been open for quite a while but was acknowledged by EA and last year they asked for additional info/saves (from PS). So they are aware of it. As part of the bug report players had sent in images of the problem. So since it's been brought to their attention, hopefully it will be addressed. It's affected my game since the start, in fact I had it with Sims 3 too funnily enough. There's nothing really that can be done to prevent it, I've just learned to check doors and windows before leaving build mode and click on them all to restore them before returning to live mode. If I do it as I'm building they'll only disappear again.

But they are definitely aware and hopefully we supplied enough info to get a fix at some point 🤞.

I have that too. From the beginning, ever since I play the Sims 4. It would be nice if this could be fixed as it doesn‘t seem to affect PC Players.
I play on the PS5.

I get it on pc too - it’s been happening for like a year but I haven’t bothered trying to fix it until now bc it’s just annoying not game breaking 🙃

Okay, then that‘s new. Well, there have been quite a few Updates in that time.
Yesterday I went from live mode to build mode, where I placed an object. Then I went back to live mode, and the door looked like the picture from the Thread creator. That‘s annoying because I then had to go back to build mode to update the door.
This definitely shouldn‘t be like that.

cbarber89​ are you using MoveObjects when building ? I know you said build cheats are switched of but I want to make sure that's what you mean.

Yes move objects turned off :) I will use it for other items but I never do for windows/doors. The picture above was with a brand new save, on console, I've not had it for a while, but after this picture I had nearly every other window do this, and some doors, clicking on it and placing it back makes it look normal again but if you go onto live mode with a door like this they don't/can't use it :)

And other question: Do you use quarter placement ? (activated with F5 on PC, not sure how it works on console)

I’m a pc player and it’s happening in my save. It happened while I had no cc but I do have them rn. But they’re all updated I spent like 5 hrs making sure. And I used to be vanilla for so long and I had this problem still. Not just console 

No I don’t believe so?

Placing it seems to make it go away. I’d have to play my game a bit longer to catch it again. It was placed with move objects but the windows aren’t placed with move object. The game recognizes the placement with or without move objects. 

I do, I use a keyboard and mouse on PS5, so pretty much the exact same keys as PC :) 

I also thought that might be an issue, so made a build without F5. And it did still happen :).  When I did use quarter tile on a build, I also tested to see how far off it would be without it, and some, not all, would of been in the same position, hope that helps :)

The Thread was listed under the „Technical Issue Consoles“ category until two days ago. Based on your Bug Report, the Thread has been moved here, because it doesn‘t only affect console players.
Based on my first comment, when I mentioned that it only affects console players, someone told me that they were also having the issue on PC. See my second comment 7 Months ago.
I certainly wouldn‘t say something like that in a current thread, where I read that it affects all platforms.

Just adding that I play on PC, have never used Mods, have nothing disabled, and I too get this bug. Sometimes it’ll happen in build mode and sometimes it’ll look normal in build mode but then will “clip”/glitch once I go into live. It’s so annoying, I try not to over decorate thinking that it’ll help but it doesn’t matter.
