Writer's Block moodlet not showing/Sims refuse to write for no reason

I play on a Windows 11 PC, never mods or CC. After the update, I deleted the cache and repaired my game before opening it just to make sure it was in tip top shape.

My teen sim is doing the Bestselling Author Aspiration right now, and writing novels appears to be broken again since the update 2/3/26. Her mom completed this aspiration with no problem several days before Tuesday's update, and writing books has been working fine since an update addressed the issue in a patch last year.

What's happening: Sim has initial goal to complete 2 books and write for 1 hour while inspired. Sim began writing a children's book as that is the only option open to level 0 writers. Sim wrote book to almost completion but then autonomously quit writing. I queued her to resume writing the book and it just disappeared from the queue after she sat back down at the computer. Tried resuming again, same result. When I had her scrap the book, she did so, and scrapping the book counted toward her goal of writing the first of two books. 

I then had her start writing another children's book, as that was still the only option available. She again almost completed it and then it disappeared from her queue and she stood up right before the book completed. I directed her to resume and the option just disappeared. She scrapped the book and it counted as a second completed book.

I decided I would watch her write the book the whole time instead of switching to other household members while she was writing. I directed her to write a short story the third time and cancelled any other interaction that popped into her queue as she was writing, since the previous bug happened sometimes when other sims tried to talk to the writing sim. She was able to complete the book the third time, but the previous two failures shouldn't have counted as a book completion for her aspiration anyway.

I had her mom write the book of life completely unmonitored, and she completed it first time, though no one tried talking to her since they were all doing other skill building activities in the household. I then had the teen try writing a children's book after her mom successfully completed writing a book, and she was able to finish the childen's book. I did nothing to my game re: cache or repairing between the two book writing failures and the three successful tries. This is what was happening with book writing before one of the updates addressed the issue last year. Sometimes they could finish successfully, sometimes not, and the result was seemingly random.
