Bad Company Keeps Freezing
Trying to play the campaign and every so often the game will just crash. No error or anything; it just freezes on the spot and I have to manually go back to the dashboard and close/restart the game. Never happened to me 18 years ago so I dunno of it's a new issue. Has this happened with anyone else? I'm playing on Xbox Series XBattlefield 5 Slow Startup and Long Loading Time
Update (Edited: 06-08-2025): Even BF6's open beta loads fine on the same PC—just 50 seconds from clicking "Play" to reaching the main menu. Update (Edited: 30-07-2025): Performed a clean reinstall of Windows 11 and the game still takes over two minutes to load. A friend of mine with a different setup is experiencing the same issue. I suspect the problem is related to the anti-cheat or the game itself. I’ve attached a screen recording to this forum post showing the problem, including an on-screen stopwatch and Task Manager for reference. Original Post: For EA Staff & Devs Bug Report ID: 6ad91d36-9f32-4e49-98f0-e1c42c510896 Help Case ID: #215668482 I recently updated the BIOS and Windows on my laptop. Everything seemed to be running smoothly—until I noticed that launching BF5 now takes significantly longer than it used to. Only BF5 is affected, I timed it with a stopwatch and the startup consistently takes around 2.5 minutes. The other games' load time from pressing play till it enters full-screen are: BF3 = 12 Seconds BF4 = 16 Seconds BF1 = 40 Seconds Issue description: After clicking Play in the EA App, the EA Anti-Cheat launches and initializes normally. Once the Anti-Cheat finishes, there's a 30-33 second delay before the game window appears. The game remains in small window and shows a black screen for another 50-60 seconds. Eventually, the game maximizes into a full-screen window and loads the title screen. Once fully open, the game runs fine, except it loads map extremely slowly as well. Here's what I've tried so far: Confirmed that Windows and NVIDIA drivers are fully up to date. Repaired, reinstalled, and cleared the cache for both the EA App and BF5. Ran both the EA App and BF5 with administrator privilege and in offline + clean boot. Ran both the EA App and BF5 on a different SSD, ensure SSD firmware are up to date. Performed a reinstall of the NVIDIA driver using DDU; cleared DirectX and NVIDIA GL caches. Reinstalled Windows using the "Fix problems with Windows Update" in-place upgrade. Reset BIOS to default settings, did a CMOS reset too. Unfortunately, none of these steps have resolved the issue, and I’m starting to run out of ideas. Has anyone else experienced this? I’d appreciate any tips or suggestions. For reference (especially if any DICE developers are reading this), here’s the BIOS update I installed: https://support.hp.com/nz-en/drivers/swdetails/omen-by-hp-16.1-inch-gaming-laptop-16-k0000/model/2101129710/swItemId/ob-348379-1 I’ve also attached my DxDiag file to this post in case it’s helpful.3.8KViews11likes17Commentsbattlefield v is not lunching anymore
Hi everyone, I have a 1‑month EA Play subscription through Steam. I installed BF1 and BFV. BF1 works perfectly, but BFV stopped launching after 2 days. When I click "Play", the "Preparing Game" pop‑up appears, then nothing – only the EA app opens. The game never starts. I tried: Launching from Steam and EA app – same issue Reinstalling EA app Verifying game files on Steam (all fine) Restarting PC and updating drivers BF1 still works fine, so the problem seems specific to BFV. Any ideas? Thanks!8Views0likes0CommentsBF1 occasionally freezes entire PC
As the title says, occasionally when I play BF1, the game slows down visibly almost to a freeze. This slowing down is applied to the entire computer, and actually closing the game doesn't resolve the issue. I have to reboot my entire PC for it to run normally again. It's not a big problem, as it occurs say only once a month, but it is odd. My PC's fans don't speed up, and BF1 is the only application this happens with. This and the fact that closing the game doesn't fix it, makes me think that it is anti-cheat related. Anybody out there with the same issue, and perhaps with a solution? I filed an appeal right after my account was permanently banned, yet there has been no progress for an entire month. My appeal status has remained "under review" without any further updates. Now I am trying to create a new support case, but the submit button does not respond at all after I fill in all information. Could you please let me know if this is a webpage bug, or if player appeals are no longer being accepted?35Views0likes5Comments[[[Please Fix BF1 Conquest So We Can Play The Way We Deserve]]]
Iv been playing Battlefield 1 sence release date and took only 3 years worth of a break because conquest lobbies were not poping up and i returned last week and [STILL] there are barely any conquest lobbies, and as i write this there are 0 conquest lobbies for the past 2 days. I feel like EA doesnt care about us bf1 conquest enthusiasts or haven't for what feels like too long. please fix it...some of us built our 40k+ streaming career from playing ONLY conquest mode. Sincerely, my heart is crying at age 26 [Edit: All caps removed from title - ElliotLH]
