Bayou Bijou Collab Completed - World save and Part 4 video released!
Welcome to another builder's collaboration hosted by Hidehi2 , Sandraelle and me soocoolsim ! Introducing Bayou Bijou, a New Orleans / Louisiana inspired world featuring seven areas. Our collaboration has been a success. Thank you to all participants! BAYOU BIJOU BASE WORLD (empty lots) This is a flat vanilla world created by Hidehi2 and is very loosely based on New Orleans or anywhere in the Louisiana Bayou country. Included are French Quarter, Garden and City Districts, Beach and Farming areas and two Bayous. The base world includes a mix of 93 empty residential and community lots. Since a fully loaded Bayou Bijou includes many highly detailed builds, we recommend you adjust your in-game settings lower for optimal gameplay. Download and install the empty base world Download and extract the world save file Place the extracted folder under .... \Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Saves before launching your game BACKGROUND (Edit! July 5/25 - The collab is complete. The following instructions are for reference only) Experienced creators (Intermediate+) are invited to join us in creating builds to add to this empty world. If building is not your forte, but you love decorating, just let us know. We'll try to match you with an appropriate builder to create a shell for you. Everyone can experience Bayou Bijou taking shape by downloading the empty base world and installing builds as they become available. Constructive comments throughout this process are welcome, so don't be shy. Please keep an eye on the "News and Updates" post for milestones and links to new creations as they become available. You can also check out in-game Bayou Bijou Stories and Sims from players / creators. Without further ado, onto the details below and come join in the fun! CLAIMING OVERVIEW Download the Bayou Bijou empty base world created by the talented Hidehi2. Take a look at the lists of available lots using the Map posts as reference (see links above). Indicate you're on board for the collab and sign up for your first claim by replying on this thread with your chosen map lot reference # (eg A8). I will update the lists with claims and add download / media links when builds are completed. Every two weeks (approx the 1st and 15th of the month) a new claiming period starting with a 'Claiming Day' post will begin. During this period, if you are now joining the collab or had a build in progress on Claiming Day, you can claim 1 lot. For ongoing participants, if all previously claimed builds are completed and link(s) submitted by Claiming Day, you may claim up to 2 lots. Edit! Effective Apr 15/25, after successfully uploading a completed cc-free build, participants may claim another lot if desired. However, max 2 claims in progress remains in place. Edit! Apr 17/25 - All lots Claimed. See the Map listings for links to completed builds. BUILDING GUIDELINES Please stay within the theme of each map area and general New Orleans, Louisiana inspiration. You have creative freedom otherwise. All Expansion Packs OK for use. All Stuff Packs OK for use. All official EA Store Items OK for use. Free EA Store Items OK for use. Note: Some are no longer available for download so use at your discretion. NO third-party Custom Content allowed. Please Custard Check your lot file before uploading to double check. We highly recommend you play-test your lot before uploading to ensure no routing concerns and downloaders can enjoy your build as intended. Another recommendation is to test placement of your final version. This helps identify any potential issues (windows/tiles out of place, etc). To do this... Export your build, save your game, delete the final version, then use the exported copy in the Library to add it back into the world. Take a look around to see if anything is amiss and correct as needed. It will be useful for players if the Bayou Bijou lot address is included in your build description on the Exchange, albeit optional. Do take the time to put your best foot forward to make your build(s) shine inside and out. Just be cautious about using a ton of clutter since that can add to lag when playing. Each build will be showcased with credit in video walkthroughs on YouTube once the world is completed. Once your build is available on the Exchange, please post a reply on this thread including: Name of build / map reference and/or address / download link / cover picture / custard screenshot confirming no 3rd party custom content included. Optional! Link to additional picture site / thread. SIM / HOUSEHOLD SUBMISSIONS The focus of the collab is on builds as the final world game save will be unpopulated, however we can link to Sims / Households created for Bayou Bijou. Bayou Bijou builders can submit Sims / Households for their completed claims as well as general (eg Townie) use. Non-builders can submit Sims / Households for general (eg Townie) use. All Expansion Packs OK for use. All Stuff Packs OK for use. All official EA Store Items OK for use. Free EA Store Items OK for use. Note: Some are no longer available for download so use at your discretion. NO third-party Custom Content allowed. Please Custard Check your Sim / Household file before uploading to double check. Once your Sim / Household is available on the Exchange, please post a reply on this thread including: Name / map reference or address (or flag as Townie) / download link / 1 cover picture / custard screenshot confirming no 3rd party custom content included. Optional! Link to additional picture site / showcase thread. Sims / Households created by participants for claimed builds will include lot addresses with their listings. Sims / Households created for potential use within Bayou Bijou but not associated with a specific build (eg Townies) will be listed under the heading of Auxiliary sims which players can place anywhere as desired. 🧜♀️ The Siren’s Curse Challenge – A Sims 4 Legacy of Death and Water Created by: @simzfreakz Genre: Story-driven supernatural challenge Style: Generational-lite, fantasy drama Playable In: Base game + Island Living recommended (for mermaids) Inspired by: Gothic myths, tragic mermaid folklore, and simmering generational trauma 💀 THE LEGEND “A mermaid’s love comes with a price. If she brings life into the world, then when that life grows… hers must end.” Centuries ago, a mermaid made a deal with the ocean to protect her child. In exchange, the sea demanded the bloodline. Now, every mermaid born into this cursed legacy must die when their child becomes a teenager. But only if they’re a mermaid. Some children are spared. Some are born human and escape the sea’s grip. But when a mermaid is born again in the bloodline… the curse returns. 🧜♀️ THE RULES This is not a traditional generational challenge. Think of it more like Rags to Riches or the Not So Berry Challenge — a set of gameplay rules to guide your storytelling. 🌊 SETUP Create your founder: A young adult human Sim named whatever you want. Move them into Sulani (or a beach lot of your choosing). Within 7 in-game days, they must become a mermaid using Mermadic Kelp. They must have at least one biological child after becoming a mermaid. Build a beach mansion before their death — it will become the family home. 🔱 THE CURSE When a mermaid gives birth, she will die the moment her child becomes a teenager. The curse only activates if the parent is a mermaid (born or turned by kelp). The death must be natural or planned (drowning, old age, emotional death, etc.). No cheating death — no Ambrosia, no Dedeathify, no resurrection. If the parent is not a mermaid, nothing happens. They live. If no mermaids are born, the curse remains dormant until one is. BLOODLINE RULES 🩸 Sim Type Mermaid? Has Kids? Kid Becomes Teen? Result Turned Mermaid (Kelp) Yes Yes Yes Dies Human Sim No Yes Yes Lives Born Mermaid Yes Yes Yes Dies Born Mermaid Yes No No Lives Adopted Child No No Yes Lives The curse follows the bloodline, not the household. 🧬 CURSE CHAIN If your founder dies because of the curse, but their child is not a mermaid → the curse ends. If a mermaid is born again later (ex: a grandchild), the curse reactivates. Only one mermaid per generation is allowed — either naturally born or by kelp. No more. You may choose which child is cursed by giving them mer26Views1like1CommentPerfect Genetics Challenge
My new video series - Perfect Genetics Challenge - is now available for viewing on YouTube. https://youtu.be/iQUhw5SbutM This video is a little over 16 minutes. It is an introduction to my founder, Olivia. We first meet her in Create a Household. We see her first home and job. She meets her man and they start getting to know each other. This challenge ought to be colourful. Not only does Olivia have blue, purple, pink and yellow hair but she has a very pale blue skin and pinkish purple eyes. The challenge requires her to produce an heir, male or female, who has the exact same hair and eye colour. Once the heir is confirmed, the mother will concentrate on living her life until the heir is old enough to take on the challenge. There is no upper limit to the number of babies she might have to produce before the heir arrives. Consequently I've set the age spans to be reasonably long but will use cake to age the family up as required. I plan to stop the mother from having more babies once it is confirmed the heir has been born. The heir will age up from toddler to child when they have done all of their toddler skills. And from Child to Teen after completing all of the child skills and getting onto the honour roll at school. The teen will age up to young adult after they have been to a prom and have learned fishing and cooking skills and read all of the fishing and recipe books. This means they'll need to get to level 7 in fishing and level 10 in cooking before I will let them age up to Young Adult. They may learn other skills along the way and need to be at least A Grade students. If they haven't learned the required skills and done the required reading within 105 days they'll age up automatically. When the heir is about the age up to Young Adult, hopefully the day before the teen is ready to age up to young adult, I'll age the parents up to Adult. The Adult life stage is also quite long just in case the mother automatically ages up to adult before she has produced the heir. The Elder life stage is also long. Babies will need grandparents around for a while. I may reduce the length of the Elder life stage at some point if the elders are accumulating. Moonlit Falls is full of supernaturals and I won't worry about when that population ages up. I'll be using EA Story Progression so if the town population ages up very slowly maybe there will still be sims around town by the time my founder's descendants start moving into the general townie population. All babies born to the founder and her heirs will have randomised traits with the one exception that each heir must have the dislikes children trait. There are no restrictions on how the main household earns their income. They can go out collecting, or gardening or whatever they choose. I will be getting them the no bills ever lifetime reward asap because I have a bad habit of forgetting about the bills and have difficulty working out what the repo man has taken. Due to the lack of restrictions on how they earn/come by their money the game will have many and varied activities in it throughout this challenge. One of the first wishes my founder got is to travel to Egypt to buy a recipe book. I do plan to grant that wish soon. Perhaps she can go there on her honeymoon. She has already met her man. I made him specially for her. She's blue with purple and blue hair, he's green with green hair and eyes. But their skin colouring is subtle. I think that about covers it. I hope you decide to watch. I'm keeping the length of these episodes to around 10 to 15 minutes each. Please consider subscribing if you are going to watch the videos as that way you'll know whenever a new episode is posted.3.3KViews4likes148CommentsIs there a Glitch in card scramble?

Updated for Businesses and Hobbies. This is a legacy challenge where each generation represents a different letter, and must explore all of the game play starting with that letter: aspirations, collections, woohoo spots, reward store traits, you name it. I already have a thread for this challenge that has been updated through Crystal Creations. Since it was transferred from the old forum, it was very hard to update further. Ignore any objective related to a pack you don’t own. You can choose to skip a generation if your pack limitations leave it extremely short on content. I've removed two of the letters (Q, Y) from the challenge because they don't have much to do, even with all the packs. No cheat codes that help you move through your objectives faster. No rules about aging. No rules governing non-heirs. Just because one generation has something as an objective, doesn’t mean that other generations can’t do it for fun/convenience. If you don’t have at least three traits in the assigned letter, you have to randomize the rest. No self-discovery traits starting with a different letter. Each heir's name, and that of any pets they have, must begin with their letter. Likes and Dislikes: The heir can only have the likes/dislikes assigned to their generation. Color preferences are assigned when they age up to Child. From that point forward, all the heir's outfits will reflect their color preferences. If you decorate a space for them, you must consider their color preferences. Fashion and interior design preferences are assigned when they age up to teen (if you have those packs). From that point forward, all their outfits and decorated spaces will reflect their style preferences. Lot Traits and Challenges: The heir must have all of their assigned lot challenges equipped in all of their designated residences. If the heir has three assigned lot traits or less, they also must be assigned. If the heir has four or more lot traits, they have to change up which three are in play. The heir's transitional aspirations (the ones that decide the bonus traits) have to be aspirations from their generation, unless they don't have two aspirations. At the start of the challenge, the Gen 1 "founder" will be a toddler, so you will need to give them at least one parent. I am playing my Farming Challenge with a Twist by PianoAshes. Each chapter will be published on Wednesdays at 14:00 Central Time [19:00 GMT - 20:00 GMT in the winter months] Loni and her father, Fred Marsden, fell on hard times after her mother, Eden, passed away. The medical bills took all of their savings. Fred fell ill and could no longer work. They were about to lose their home. In desperation, Fred called an old Army buddy, Tate Curley, in Appaloosa Plains. Tate bought them bus tickets and told them he had a place they could live and that they should come immediately. They packed what they could take on the bus, mainly clothing and footwear. Loni opened her dresser drawer and took out her grandmother's pearls. They were natural pearls with a unique purple color. She placed them on top of her clothes and closed the suitcase. Then she went into her father's room and helped him pack. The two suitcases were heavy, so she could only manage one at a time on the staircase. They called a taxi. The driver put the suitcases in the trunk while they got into the cab. It was a short drive to the bus station. The driver brought their suitcases inside near the loading door when they arrived. Loni went to the counter to get their tickets and two baggage tags to attach to their suitcases. It wasn't long before their bus was loading. Loni made two trips out to the bus with their luggage. They settle into two seats near the front of the bus. It was a long ride to Appaloosa Plains, so Loni had packed sandwiches and drinks in her backpack. Loni Marsden: Fred Marsden: Edited to add: 9722cce410c84e2a Loni's partner is Christian Payne, created by CravenLestat. He and Charlotte moved in with Loni to help with the farm. They ended up getting married. Christian and Charlotte are available on the exchange. CravenLestat also created Loni's Hedgehog shirt, which is available on the exchange. The shirt says: HEDGEHOGS WHY DON'T THEY JUST SHARE THE HEDGE? The hedgehog is saying NO. The model is Michell Forsythe from my Precious Joy Forsythe Family Legacy game.424Views4likes45CommentsSIMS 4 CHALLENGE LIST (Updated May 24, 2021)
The purpose of this thread is to create a current list of all available challenges for The Sims 4. This includes Legacy and many other type challenges. There have been other threads in the past, but they haven't been updated in at least a year, so here's a new one that will be much more up to date. Please feel free to add any new challenges in the comments! Any thoughts on how you would like to see this list formatted are welcome. Thank you to @Nicarra60 for all the work you put into the original post. I have organized the challenges below by "types" of challenge. Links to find each type are here: Legacy Challenges Toddler Challenges (Under Legacies) Gameplay / Story Based Challenges Building Challenges Sim Creation/CAS Challenges Rotation / Multi-Household Play Challenges Selection / Contestant Challenges Pets / Animals Challenges Holiday / Special Event Challenges Exploration / Scavenger Hunt Challenges TV / Movie Fan Based Challenges HOW TO SUBMIT A CHALLENGE 1. To submit a challenge to be added to the list, please include the challenge name and a working link for full challenge rules. 2. Challenges submitted MUST have their own forum thread or blog/website post for rules. Any challenges posted with rules within this thread will NOT be added to the list. 3. Read below for tips on creating a new challenge. 4. Feel free to ask any questions you may have! Here are some excellent tips when creating a new challenge, written by @EuphorialQueen: When I am reading thru a new challenge suggestion I look for a few key items: What is the story behind the challenge? Tell me something to make me interested in reading more about the challenge. Is it based on another existing challenge? Is it a complete challenge with a beginning, middle and end? How do I start, how do I play and what is the ultimate goal or how do I 'win'? Do the rules or guidelines seem reasonable and can goals set by the challenge actually be achieved? Has the person posting the challenge play tested it? By posting a challenge on a blog or in the forums it is much easier to discuss and ask questions. When updating a challenge or change the guidelines just edit the thread where it is posted. Starting too many threads on the same challenge or subject only adds to confusion and leads to information being lost. These are only suggestions and offer a view of how I - as one person - review challenges. Thank you for your time. Edit: Use spell check and complete words to make reading your post more pleasant and easier to understand. Want to write stories about the challenges you play? Welcome to BNS 194: Summer Designer Showdown! “Flavors of the World” – A Multicultural Festival This month, we’re celebrating the rich tapestry of cultures that make up our Sims’ world! Your challenge is to design a multicultural summer festival—a vibrant outdoor space where Sims from all walks of life can gather, eat, dance, and connect. The Brief: Budget: None this time Lot size: 20x20 or larger. Minimum of 4 food and drink kiosks or stalls (Use any combination of in-game or cc stalls, food carts, or vendor tables. Group them by region, theme them by color, or scatter them organically—your choice!) Outdoor eating area Must include seating for at least 8 Sims and some form of shade (umbrellas, pergolas, tents, etc.) Public restrooms These can be standalone or part of a larger structure, but they must be accessible from the festival grounds. Use any world or season. Add stages, splash pads, murals, or anything else that brings your festival to life. No indoor residential spaces (this is a public venue!) Don't leave the lot mostly empty. Optional: Share the in-universe story behind your festival. Who organized the festival? Is it a long-standing community tradition or a brand-new initiative? Are there any simmering rivalries between food vendors? Did someone forget to book the mariachi band? Optional Features (for extra flair): A performance space (stage, dance floor, or busking area) Cultural decor or themed zones (e.g., lanterns, papel picado, flags, murals) A kids’ activity area (playground, splash pad, or crafts) Custom signage or banners to name your festival. The Sim Challenge: None this time. The Room Challenge: None this time. Remember to include the hashtag #bns194 with your build so it can be found. Entries are due by Thursday, July 31st, 23:5:59 New York Time/EDT Patch Day Notice – July 1 Please note that a game patch is scheduled for today. If it causes significant mod or build issues, we’ll allow extra time for entries as needed. Build at your own pace—we’ll be here all month! Hi lovely friends! I'm rolling out this quick creativity challenge today April 3, 2020 in an effort to give you more exciting things to do as we all #StayAtHome in the weeks ahead. The main goal of this challenge is to design and upload original creations quickly and on weekends only. The focus of these creativity challenges is to grow your CAS skills since that's the creative section I'm most passionate about in The Sims. However, I may choose to challenge you on rooms and builds too as the challenge continues. The rules and creative direction will be posted here each Friday. Create and upload your entry to the gallery beginning each Friday after the new direction/rules post through 11:00PM MST Monday using the hashtag #GLovelysQCC I love to make Maxis nominations so this challenge will help me find some fantastic things created by you much more easily to share in the nominations threads. It would be very helpful for you to review this link on how Maxis chooses creations to fave before you share your entries. https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/955438/how-do-we-choose-our-maxis-faves-curation-guide#latest Randomly I will invite a group of talented creators to judge all of the entries during prize rounds. Prizes will consist of The Sims 4 Expansions, Game or Stuff packs as I choose. I will let you know each Friday when I post the creative directions if that weekend will be a judging weekend prize round. In addition, please feel free to share your creations here in the form of screenshots (limit 3), description and gallery links weekend after weekend. I'd love to see this thread filled with your Sims creativity! Also, please share your creations on other platforms too like #Twitter or #Instagram. If you do, please tag me so I can see ;) Thanks for taking the time to read this thread! I'm so excited to roll out these quick creativity challenges each weekend and I'm looking forward to seeing all the fabulous creations you share with me! FIRST WEEKEND KICK-OFF -- PRIZE ROUND! Creative Direction & Rules: We've all been quarantined at home for various amounts of time now. For this first QCC please create one original family household that resembles your own family household. You can make simselves but that is not a requirement. You may include pets if you have them in your home. In your description please briefly describe your family and share with us what your family is doing to pass the time as we stay home. Do you craft? Write? Game? Read? Bake? Have you reorganized your home? Please share tips and optimism in your description. Be sure to include the hashtag #GLovelysQCC in your description before you upload to the gallery. Design every outfit category for every sim in the household Give at least 1 family member the "family oriented" trait Write your creation description according to the above guide NoCC and no defaults (defaults replace the original Maxis skin/eyes but are not officially tagged as CC) Only Maxis poses Reuploaded/Copied creations will be disqualified Have a blast creating for us! This is a prize round so the winner will be chosen by a panel of active gallery sim creators. Winner will receive their choice of either the City Living EP OR the Get Together EP game code redeemable on Origin for PC. (If you have these EP's already and you win you may choose an alternate.) Stay safe at home and happy simming always lovelies! 💜53KViews4likes1741CommentsFields of Gold Legacy
I started another legacy. This one begins on an abandoned, run-down farm in Alryne Valley. This lot is available in my Studio on the Sims 3 Exchange. My name is Jade Fields. I am from Bridgeport, but I hate city life. It was crowded, and the air quality left much to be desired. I moved to Alryne Valley about a week ago and have been renting a room at TexanSky Lodge. It is a stark contrast to Bridgeport. I think I'll be happy here. The climate is pretty mild. The spring and fall are nearly twice as long as the winter, and the summer is longer than the spring and fall combined. The entire year is 7 moon cycles long. I have always dreamed of owning a nectary. Last week, I visited a run-down piece of land in the hills outside of town. I was shocked at how dilapidated it was, but it should be worth at least §70,000 once it's cleaned up. I am ready and willing to do the work. A wind turbine on the property supplies electricity to the buildings. The biggest selling point was the Nectar Making Machine in the barn. The previous owners said that it works, but I have my doubts. Once I grow some grapes, I will find out for sure. I'm glad that I am handy. I might be able to coax it back to life. I purchased the property at auction for §15,000. I have named it Fields of Gold. Edited: Her traits are that she is a great kisser, loves the outdoors, is a natural cook, has a green thumb, and is a cat person. She likes fruit parfait, Classical music, and Irish green. I changed one trait to green thumb, but the rest were traits she was assigned. And, of course, I gave her Bottomless Nectar Cellar for her Lifetime Wish.
