AMD 9070XT Black Screen Crash
I have been playing for the past few weeks and have started running into near constant crashes. The frequency of these crashes is anywhere between every few minutes to few hours. It does not seem to correspond to any in game events though at one point I managed to get it to consistently happen when entering one area but it fixed itself there after about 10 crashes. The crashes are all screens turning off, the game sounds sometimes continuing (and I can tell I am interacting with the game due to controller vibrations), some times my GPU fans spin up to 100%. In all situations it is not recoverable and the system will eventually restart, sometimes instantly other times after a few minutes. Sometimes after restarting my graphics card is no longer detected causing multiple issues that need resolving step by step. I have tried all troubleshooting I can online, my best solution is to DDU , reinstall drivers to force the shaders to fully recompile and then I can usually get around 30 minutes into the game before it fails again (though I suspect it might be placebo) . It is not temperature, or overclock as I have tried underclocking and keeping a temp log to no success. I have tested both a Linux install as well as windows and the error appears on both, and I have tested on a steamdeck and I can force the error to occur by changing the screen refresh rate while the game is running . I am currently installing my older GPU to see if I can run the game with that instead but there is clearly something broken either with my new 9070 XT or, I hope, with the game/drivers. I have not had issues like this with other games but DAV is the game I have played the longest with this card. Any help would be appreciated and if you have the same issue I would welcome a comment just so I can know that I am not alone and it is more likely to be the drivers or game and not a busted card! When loading, get a black screen with the game still loading
For some reason over the last couple of days, I have been dealing with whenever I try to load the game after I stop playing for a bit, I get a black screen that loads and then sits there and it seems like nothing happens but the game does load and then I can hear the sound and everything and can hear when my mouse seemingly goes over the menu options. I have tried the following: Updated Graphics drivers to the latest Updated Windows to the latest Verified Game Files Deleted the shader cache Rolled back my Graphics driver to an earlier version to see if that works. The only thing that seems to work is uninstalling the game and reinstalling...which is insanely annoying to do. At this point I'll keep reinstalling to be able to play the game....but it's annoying.Dragon Age: Veilguard freezing Ps5
I have tried everything to fix the freezing issue, performance mode, uninstall/reinstalling, restarting ps5, resetting ps5, going offline. It still freezes constantly. I can't even make it out of Character Creation. My partner has the same type of ps5 as me but his runs fine and hasn't froze at all.Game Froze indefinitely after approaching the Veil Jumpers camp portal
Video attached. My game froze indefinitely when I approached the veil jumpers camp portal and never recovered. I’ve not been able to reproduce it but I’ve sent a crash report via PlayStation after my game crashed when trying to close the game after freezing although it didn’t crash itself initially so unsure how useful the call stack will be, hopefully this helps though.Keeps on crashing
When i got the game in December. I tried to start a new game and make a character. The game crash and freeze. I have a ps5 and i did everything, uninstall and reinstall. It still keeps on crashing. I called playstation and they stated it's not them. So basically EA has issues with their servers. I've waiting for this game to come out since 2016. Now it's having issue already. Please EA fix this issue please and send the new Patch asapPC Load Screen Freezing (black screen during load or crash)
**LOAD SCREEN FREEZING** (Black screen with purple loading icon in lower right corner, video lock up needing hard restart issues, or window crashing to desktop after starting) This is a shader compiling issue. So, this issue has been affecting many ever since the game launched. I had this issue, ensured everything was updated (BIOS, GPU drivers, etc.), run as administrator, compatibility modes, restarts, disabling various graphics features, etc., etc., etc. None of it worked. Many folks mentioned deleting (or simply removing) the shader_cache folder in the game files and it worked. As a workaround, it caused some performance issues but the game was playable, until the most recent update. Now, if you attempt this work around it says there are "Corrupted Files" and you have to run the repair if you want to play. So that workaround is out the window. Spoke with EA Support earlier about this issue and was told it's a known issue causing problems for lots of various hardware configurations/platforms (i.e. PC, PS5, XBox). Supposedly a fix is in the works and set to be released sometime "soon." Added the usual "some people are having issues because of outdated BIOS causing crash during shader compilation" bit. No help there, my BIOS is up-to-date, still no luck. Also mentioned that some people apparently have had issues with nVidia graphics driver versions newer than Version 560.94 (tried a rollback to this version as well, didn't help). All in all, it sounds like some of us are simply out of luck until they release a fix....Crashing During Cut Scenes
Hello Rooks, We've noticed reports of Dragon Age: The Veilguard crashing during cut scenes. I've seen people with similar complaints but I've yet to see anyone with a solution. At this point, I'm convinced it's an issue with the actual game and the only way for the crashes to stop is for Bioware to release a patch and address the issue. The game originally ran fine for me but 2 days after release the game just started randomly crashing to desktop. No error or anything. It also crashes steam as well and I am unable to relaunch steam or any other app, instead I get the message, "this app is unable to run on your PC." Everything is fixed once I restart my PC. At this point, the game crashes anywhere from 1 min in to maybe 30 mins, on medium settings if I'm lucky, and maybe 10 mins max on high settings. The game used to run perfectly for me on high settings with no issues on release. I have an AMD graphics card and CPU that are above the recommended requirements. I have tried playing this game on steam deck and while the FPS sucks and I have to use low settings, there are no crashes. I have tried everything including: uninstalling and reinstalling the game verifying game files both deleting shader cache and restoring it uninstalling and reinstalling steam updating my graphic drivers and chipset updating my BIOS resetting my BIOS settings to default both enabling and disabling XMP completely uninstalling and reinstalling windows enabling DLSS lowering game settings and turning off hair stand ...and more that I probably can't even remember right now. I have spent hours trying to find a fix. At this point I don't even expect anyone to have a solution but I'm making this post so EA and Bioware are aware of this constant, random crashing that is making the game that I spent $80 on unplayable.Unable to Proceed Quest - In Entropy's Grasp
I'm stuck on the "In Entropy's Grasp" quest due to a game-breaking bug, which, not even the first bug I've encountered. This game is so full of bugs it can be called The Bug's Life. And I'm only a couple of hours into the game. For the information, I'm playing in a gaming laptop using windows 11, and I got the game from Steam. The problem starts at the stairway to the ballista area (attachment 1). Any save I make after this point won't load properly. When I do try to load, my character shows up headless, and if I press any button that opens any menu (journal, save, etc), the game freezes (attachment 3). When I try to just proceed with the game anyway, Bellara's usual prompt for the ancient device didn't pop up either, and the construct didn't move when I approached them (attachment 2). I've checked in this forums but haven’t found any problem similar to mine. Has anyone else run into this? Is there a way to fix it, or do I just have to wait for a patch? I’ve already tried loading an earlier save, restarting the game, and rebooting the laptop, but nothing works.
