If you don't change something, this game will die.
I'm really trying to enjoy this game; I've been playing for 80 hours now (which is very little compared to other skateboarding games I've played, where gameplay time is measured in hundreds, if not thousands, of hours). However, I have a serious problem with SKATE: it's simply boring. Until now, I've been completing tasks, completing them over and over again until I reached level 10 in each district, and let me tell you, it was simply exhausting. However, I don't think I've ever started this game just to play, skate, explore... I've been waiting until I feel like it, and I DON'T. I keep wondering what the main problem is, and I think it's the controls. After years of playing SKATER XL and SESSIONS, we're accustomed to very precise gameplay, to controls that allow us to hit the railing with our truck at the right angle. If something didn't work out in those games, it was clearly my fault, so I want to play more and get better. In Skate, it's like I'm trying to do a boardslide, and the rail pulls my board up, and pretty much ANYTHING happens. I feel like I'm back in some arcade Game Boy game where you have to press buttons quickly and carelessly. Like I'm playing a stripped-down Tony Hawk. The only thing I enjoy is riding ramps and doing grabs, because other games couldn't handle that, and SKATE does it more or less okay. Another problem is the game's lack of skate culture. It lacks skateboarding brands, skateboarding personalities, and anything related to skateboarding culture; the game is culturally sterilized. Then there's the lack of a story. I don't know if a story would have saved this game. Maybe it would have encouraged me to play another few hours, but it still won't keep me glued to this game for hundreds of hours. However, the lack of a story is a major flaw. And this whole fuss about some kind of monetary system is just laughable. I enter the game, hoping to have some fun, and today I get a message saying I've received some coins. You can guess where I got them. What am I supposed to do with them? Buy a dress just to stay bored in it? As a final icing on the cake, we can add the long animation for opening these packages that often breaks, showing you opening the same thing twice, and in the end, you still get some crap like a sticker you don't want. On top of that, you can't edit your character's stats, speed, ollie height, flip speed... it's a disaster. This way, I can't use the board to its full potential because there's only one rail height I can jump on. Everything else is out of my reach because my character skates slowly and jumps low. YOU'RE KILLING THIS GAME RIGHT FROM THE VERY BEGINNING. In my opinion, this game is made by people who have no love for skateboarding games, and above them are people who prioritize making money from the game, and that way you won't make any money because the game will die. More speed on Vert
Hey so I just started the game and I am really surprised with how fun it is The one thing I don’t really like is the airtime in vert. I don’t know if it’s a skill problem, but just trying to speed up in a half pipe doesnt really feel natural at all. It feels like a rubber band is dragging you downThis game is dogwater, change my mind.
I think EA just loves to ruin games that people use to enjoy. They can't take criticism at all, they keep ignoring the players who are keeping this game from being straight up abandoned, they can add a crap ton of stuff to the store but can't fix any of the bugs or glitches, they are taking away the tix you grinded for if you didn't buy them with real money so it defeats the purpose of grinding for them, the items in the hesh & sesh are some of the most god awful looking stuff, the special prize for Halloween was a dress even though the majority of players are male, the new event is just bad, worse than the Halloween event was, the game is just Fortnite if it was a skating game instead, it has a battlepass just like it... I will be honestly surprised if this game even makes it out of early access before 2027 or is still alive before 2027 on console. Every time I play this new "skate" game i can only find the flaws and nothing good about it. It's souless. It's just a game about a store with skating as camouflage so you think it's a game about skateboarding when in reality it's just "giving your money to a millionaire company" simulator. This game is a disservice to actual skaters and our culture. Skate 3 had 100+ different brands related to skateboarding in it and had more cosmetics and skateboarding related stuff than the current skate game. How TF did we go from skate 3 to a very very very downgraded skate 2? Why do we keep accepting this garbage from companies that have more than enough money to make a better game? When did we allow people to sell us s h i t games that have no soul or passion? Why does a game about skateboarding need a battlepass anyways?, is it because EA make a horrible financial decision and how is that the players fault? Why does the player keep getting punished for your phuckups? How is that fair? EA swears that your feedback is important but they still don't listen to you or fix anything let alone address it and when they do they still find a way to weasel their way out of it and end up taking it out on the players who are keeping this game alive when it deserves to die the same way Destiny 2 did when Bungie messed up something that was great. The only good thing about this game is the classic controls and music to a point other than that THPS games are more realistic and fun than whatever the hell this is... I'd rather play any of the THPS games before I play skate. This game actually sucks. I already deleted this game because i just can't with the endless amount of game breaking bugs and glitches and the lack of content, I truly hope EA and Full Circle goes bankrupt before or after 2026. They deserve it the most. Even Session is more realistic and fun than this game and you can't do grabs in it, even SkaterXL is a better choice than this game, they won't punish you for criticism or giving your personal feedback.Day+night and/or cycle control to the player like on Steep + weather
So on Steep it has a day and night cycle even though it’s online you can choose between if it’s day or night for each individual player. I think this could be a sick add on for skate as who doesn’t like a night skate also. Plus a weather could be also cool as skate through a stormy or light rain again would be cool and could effect the sliding distance of your board.skate update
so so bad... spent all the time on adding the ugliest new stuff to the map instead of fixing loding screen bugs and challenge screen bugs and instead of adding somthing fun and new you add 90s wack clothing ... great ... also adding more barrings to pick up is not making those more fun .. making it worse .. what you should do is try to puyt together a real line .. not some bs grind everthing in site and pick all theese up while your at it .. new update made me want to uninstall. no to mention half of the seetings still dont work properly when you turn assist on or off or camera angles . not the update i wanted at all . updated all the wrong stuff in the wrong way ggsSkate not working after falling into map
I love skate but I did a trick in a community park my board went into the ramp then I fell through the map now whenever I start the game it’s just a black screen I’ve tried joining on a friend getting them to start a mission I can see their starting it but then nothing happens

I really can't believe this isn't a thing in 2025. Please just find an anticheat that works on linux!? We have the steamdeck, a pretty perfect machine for this game. Doesnt work. Gatekeeps a huge playerbase. I have to be in the hospital the next month, and i only run Windows on my Workstation PC at home for general game modding and skate - but i have to be on my (linux) laptop the next month, probably, and it only runs on linux. I just want to play my fidget toy. At the end, i probably will try to run some vm and windows with it only to play skate, dafuq. This is totally nuts. Please, support Linux.
EA tells you to go to forums and then ignores you
Hello, I have made multiple attempts to get my issue fixed and I keep getting told to post on forums and I will hear from someone, but nothing ever happens. It’s a simple issue to resolve. I was claiming skate pass items and the currency ran out and suddenly I had accidentally bought more with the real orange currency. I just want this reversed back. The game is buggy and freezes and next thing I know something happened k did not want. You just need to remove 1400 skate pass currency and add back the 500 of the orange currency. I am really hoping for help and some consideration since this is a pre release game and I bought the $50 founders edition.
