Please support Linux and Steam Deck!

I really can't believe this isn't a thing in 2025.

Please just find an anticheat that works on linux!?

We have the steamdeck, a pretty perfect machine for this game. Doesnt work. Gatekeeps a huge playerbase.

I have to be in the hospital the next month, and i only run Windows on my Workstation PC at home for general game modding and skate - but i have to be on my (linux) laptop the next month, probably, and it only runs on linux. I just want to play my fidget toy. At the end, i probably will try to run some vm and windows with it only to play skate, dafuq.

This is totally nuts.

Please, support Linux.

It's bizarre that this game even needs a kernel level anti cheat for this game. This game is not competitive. It feels like a crutch for insinuate server side verification. That or just some internal EA mandate. But yeah, linux please. I only boot into windows to play this game :\

  • Theres an anticheat.  No anticheat games work on linux.  Linux is for servers.

Linux is for everything! Embedded, desktops. servers. Steam decks aren't portable server machines, unless you turn it into one xD There are games running anti cheat on linux. Microsoft is making windows less and less hospitable, so a lot of us are jumping ship. Linux desktop is growing.

its true. just because one company hijacked open source to lock a generation of kids into their ecoystem doesnt make it a good operating system. its not better for games and definitely falls really flat when you try to run any non steam software. i sold my steam deck and bought a laptop. it games so much better.

  • Don't Linux users make up only around 3% of the PC gaming market? For portable use it would make much more sense for them to port this to the Switch 2, as those are being sold in the millions every month or 2, and will most likely hit at least 50mil units sold in the next 5 years.

It's funny how you're wrong four times with only three statements. Impressive.

What does this mean? Who hijacked open source? Valve?! What generation of kids are locked into an open source eco system? Wild. No one claims Linux is better for games. It's not. But MS has been hostile towards its users for quite while now. I never wanted to leave windows. Linux Is getting better every year and the community is growing. The more 1st part support it gets, the better the platform cam be.
