SIMS 4 CHALLENGE LIST (Updated May 24, 2021)
The purpose of this thread is to create a current list of all available challenges for The Sims 4. This includes Legacy and many other type challenges. There have been other threads in the past, but they haven't been updated in at least a year, so here's a new one that will be much more up to date. Please feel free to add any new challenges in the comments! Any thoughts on how you would like to see this list formatted are welcome. Thank you to @Nicarra60 for all the work you put into the original post. I have organized the challenges below by "types" of challenge. Links to find each type are here: Legacy Challenges Toddler Challenges (Under Legacies) Gameplay / Story Based Challenges Building Challenges Sim Creation/CAS Challenges Rotation / Multi-Household Play Challenges Selection / Contestant Challenges Pets / Animals Challenges Holiday / Special Event Challenges Exploration / Scavenger Hunt Challenges TV / Movie Fan Based Challenges HOW TO SUBMIT A CHALLENGE 1. To submit a challenge to be added to the list, please include the challenge name and a working link for full challenge rules. 2. Challenges submitted MUST have their own forum thread or blog/website post for rules. Any challenges posted with rules within this thread will NOT be added to the list. 3. Read below for tips on creating a new challenge. 4. Feel free to ask any questions you may have! Here are some excellent tips when creating a new challenge, written by @EuphorialQueen: When I am reading thru a new challenge suggestion I look for a few key items: What is the story behind the challenge? Tell me something to make me interested in reading more about the challenge. Is it based on another existing challenge? Is it a complete challenge with a beginning, middle and end? How do I start, how do I play and what is the ultimate goal or how do I 'win'? Do the rules or guidelines seem reasonable and can goals set by the challenge actually be achieved? Has the person posting the challenge play tested it? By posting a challenge on a blog or in the forums it is much easier to discuss and ask questions. When updating a challenge or change the guidelines just edit the thread where it is posted. Starting too many threads on the same challenge or subject only adds to confusion and leads to information being lost. These are only suggestions and offer a view of how I - as one person - review challenges. Thank you for your time. Edit: Use spell check and complete words to make reading your post more pleasant and easier to understand. Want to write stories about the challenges you play? I've got news for those of you who have been looking for an alternative family tree tool to track your sim families in - we've launched a public beta for our family tree app, The Plum Tree. We made this web app specifically for TS4, so you can add your sims' traits, aspirations and bios as well. The Plum Tree can be accessed from most standard web browsers. You can learn more about what the tool does and how it works here. To start creating family trees just head on over to theplumtreeapp.com and create your account. Check out the post below for quick links and latest news - we are currently looking to expand the team; more info below. So yeah, due to how these forums work with the spoilers, the original guide is somewhat messed up and updating it would result in loss of information. So, after some consideration, I've decided to make a V2.0 thread on it, using the similar approach to the List of Traits with link trees and each pack being in its own post (so it is collapsible). This thread will have two main posts under which I'll post the info. Please do not reply under them. You may reply to this post or other replies (including mine). Links to important replies: NPC Making List Additional Guides But how does it all work? Basically, if you ever wanted to make custom NPC sims, good news is that most of them can be done without any mods. The main cheats you are going to require are those: testingcheats on traits.equip_trait [trait_codename] careers.add_career [career_codename] In the guide, there are 5 types of "difficulties" I'm going to use (and emojis I'm using with it): 🔷Played-Friendly- These ones, usually traits, can not only also be taken from sims the Played Households, switching to the household the sim is in won't make them lose their NPC status. 📝Simply Assign a Career/Trait- These will lose their NPC status when you play with them. The usual way of making those is by making these sims, equipping them with the required traits and/or careers, then evicting them. 🏙Location-Based Career- Unfortunately, this is where the career location matters, and it is the venue they'll be working at. As to my knowledge, there isn't any way to set a career location to a sim without mods, the best bet here is to modify sims already working there or make one of the custom sim unplayed and hope they'll appear in that role. 🔻Must Be Unplayed- You may assign a required career and/or trait, but they'll won't appear in the role until you set the household to be unplayed. 👨👩👧👦Out of Control- Welp, these sims are chosen randomly from a broad selection. No way to influence the game to pick the sim you want... And in addition, these emojis represent the following: ✅️Must have, meaning that your sim must have that skill, trait, career etc to appear in this role. 🟡Optional, meaning that your sim can have it for the game to consider them more for the role, but they don't need to have it. Sometimes used in sub-types. ❌️Mustn't have, meaning if your sim has the skill, trait, career etc, the game will never place them in the role even when all other conditions are met. ❕Splits into sub-types, meaning that for the sim to appear in the role, they must meet at least one of the requirements in the following list below for the game to consider them. Ghosts and sims that are currently at work are usually excluded. In addition, this list shows the sims that will be excluded from the most of the roles: I've also decided to bring out templates too. These are not important when making NPC sims, but are rather some interesting side-info on how sims are generated for the role by the game. So yeah, look at the list and have fun making your own NPC sims!4.4KViews9likes412CommentsList of Traits in The Sims 4
Hello! Despite the discussion collecting these already existing, I've decided to make my own traits list due to how these forums work (it starts from the first post, not the last post, and it takes long to reach the last post). This list contains all the traits in-game, both visible and hidden, in these sections: Base Game Expansion Packs Game Packs Stuff Packs & Kits Non-Pack Filtered Visible Traits Non-Pack Filtered Hidden Traits Popular traits Update Log To add a trait, you'll need to use this cheat: traits.equip_trait [trait_codename] And to remove a trait, you'll need to use this cheat: traits.remove_trait [trait_codename] In both cheats, [trait_codename] needs to be replaced with trait's codename. For most of the personality traits, it's same as its name, but there are exceptions (Erratic for example). Find the trait codenames in the list below. These lists will be kept updated as patches and packs come out. Please do not post under these trait lists. If you'd like to suggest traits for the popular section or want to discuss some traits, please reply to either this post or someone else's.9.5KViews18likes84CommentsHow I take my sim's photo's and make them family portraits
Hi there simmers. Since we got Growing together I felt my game needed more family portraits in their houses, but I am not a big fan of having mods in my game so had to try and do it with what the game offers, and I managed to do it as explained below in a spoiler under the pics I have made in game so far ;) It is a bit of a big tutorial so please bare with me, I tried to make it very easy to explain. You will need two things for this to work. The family portrait (we got it a few years ago as a gift when installing the mobile sims game. It is available here if you missed out then ;) https://sims4studio.com/thread/13060/glassplumbob and you need the basegame crystal clear digital camera. (You need to buy it and place it in your sim's inventory) Once your family portrait frame is against the wall it will automatically display the household as it is. Mine is currently a mom with her infant. You can change the outfits and randomize the poses by selecting the portrait. Once you have your desired pose and outfit then walk your sim over to the portrait, make sure they face the portrait. I usually have them walk past it so that they have to turn around to face it to walk closer. Once they are in position click on the camera in their inventory and select take photo. Your walls can be down, mine is only up because I need to show you round about where your sim should stand, they can stand back a bit more, but with the camera you have you can zoom out which helps. It will look like this, you can select which size photo you would like, I selected large for this one Once the photo's are taken, then go find a spot in the house you would like to place them. You can place the photo on the wall by dragging it out from the inventory against the wall. https://i.imgur.com/2y81pNM.png then select to add a frame and the colour and wolla you have a nice pic of the family in a frame :) You can also drag photo's into the photo frames we got with Mochino stuff and Growing together ;) Hope this helps you all, happy simming <33.9KViews8likes49CommentsFollow My Progress in Make a Sims 4 Save File

Hello all, everytime I go onto my sims 4 and try to load into a saved game it just sits on the blue loading screen for hours, I tried last night to create a new game and see if it would let me do that and it did and I played in that game for hours but I saved it and got off for the night and today tried going back into the one I created last night and it’s again just sitting on the loading screen for hours, it wasn’t doing this until the most recent updates…. I reached out to support and they couldn’t help me so I figured I’d post it on here to see if anyone is dealing with this same issue and if so how did you resolve it? It’s extremely frustrating. I’m playing on windows btw! I also attached a photo of the loading screen that just sits up there for hours. Is there a way to regenerate attraction?
Hey so I've very recently gotten the new pack and I really like the attraction feature. I'm currently playing rotating 5 families with the main ones I'm focus on being a group of teens. My little issue though is that they all generated attractions to each other before I was able to go in and set what they should be attracted to. So now I've got the two who are meant to be soulmates thinking the other is major ugly. I thought this would be an easy fix by going in and changing what they like, but despite changing their attractions they've kept the same opinions even though the other sim meets 100% of their standards. Is there a way I'm missing to regenerate a sims attraction levels?1KViews2likes11Comments
