A Letter from Bret IMMORTALS OF AVEUM LAUNCH Thank you, Magnus This moment, right now, is a surreal moment for the team at Ascendant and myself. As simple as it may seem, you reading this letter means that we’ve finished Immortals of Aveum™ and you’re getting ready to play the culmination of five long years of our hard work. Before I write any more, I just want to thank you for taking precious time out of your life to play our game, it means the world to us. When I founded Ascendant Studios, I had little more than a game concept, some notes, and the trust of my investor Brian, to create an independent AAA studio. I had no team, no tech, and only a vague idea on how to start such an ambitious project. Fast forward five years, and I think we have an epic, beautiful, and really fun game that came out of the passion and hard work of the team. I could not be more proud of what we have accomplished, from building a world-class team, to learning Unreal Engine 5, creating an amazing combat system and story, through the adversity of COVID, and so many more accomplishments along the way. It's been the best experience of my professional life. On behalf of Ascendant Studios, thank you for being part of this journey. We can't wait for you to play the game and experience the world we have created. This is our first game and the first chapter of our company. It's only the beginning. Sincerely, Bret (CEO, Game Director) and the Ascendant Team Original from our blog on ea.com235Views8likes0CommentsUnderstanding the Magic of Aveum - Quickstart Guide
GET READY TO FIGHT, MAGNUS! With us getting more information on Immortals of Aveum I wanted to take a moment to go over the 3 different types of magic you can use in-game. To be caught up on the latest game news, you can check out our News Page and Twitter Page You can also, Sign up for our newsletter to be the first to know about Immortals of Aveum™ updates. First, we have Red Magic, Red Magic embodies entropy and violence. Its spells can create, rend, and harness energy in extreme ways, manipulating it to unleash a destructive beam or disrupting it to disorient enemies. Second, there is Blue Magic, Blue Magic embodies force and the physical manipulation of matter. Fire precise bolts, spontaneously form shields and defensive walls, or manipulate gravity. Blue magic also powers a Magnus’ ability to grapple, push, or pull objects. And Lastly, there is Green Magic, Green Magic embodies growth, death, and transition. Spells manipulate enemies and objects by altering them or their surroundings. Bind objects in place, misdirect with illusions, or rend an enemy’s ability to cast or heal. BE THE BATTLEMAGE Join the Order of the Immortals, the champion protectors of Lucium, and become Jak, an elite Triarch Magnus. Unleash magic spells with deadly skill, and decimate legions of enemies in a game that defies FPS conventions. Experience fast, fluid, first-person, spell-based combat that’s easy to learn and satisfying to master. In Immortals of Aveum, magic is at the core of both offense and defense. Creatively leverage all three forces of magic and be rewarded for chained attacks and well-timed counters. Unlock and upgrade more than 25 Spells and 80 Talents. Discover, upgrade, and craft hundreds of pieces of magical gear. Then synergize your playstyle across all three forces of magic and become Aveum’s most powerful Triarch Magnus. An Unforeseen, Jak, is thrust into the Everwar – an endless struggle between Lucium and Rasharn over the control of magic. Jak and Lucium’s elite Immortals must race to uncover the mysteries of Aveum’s past, if there’s any hope of saving its future.4.9KViews8likes5CommentsReported Issues and Updates

I will admit at this time that I haven't gotten very far yet in the game. Just managed to get pass what I consider the "intro" section and have joined the group. My thoughts so far: 1) The game is pretty, the set pieces, magic, enemies, characters, and monsters are all very nice looking. The game just seems a visual feast. We will have to see if this continues or if it gets stale later, but so far, I have been impressed with the graphics. 2) Sound tract so far is good. To me the background music should enhance what is going on in the game, and so far, it has been doing it well, and has been enjoyable to listen to. I have found myself just pausing sometimes to listen to the music playing in the background. 3) Combat so far is fun, will have to see how it feels later or if it gets stale, but so far a magic shooter seems a fair description. So far the magic is interesting and the "heavy skills" add an extra dimension to combat much like heavy weapons do in shooters. It is early, so it could get repetitive but so far, it is a fun concept and play style. 4) Difficulty. I am on the "normal" difficulty or the balanced one and so far it is a bit easy. I don't want to jump up a difficulty level yet due to it being EARLY and barely out of the "intro" section. I hope it steps up in difficulty without having to change the setting, but only time will tell. So far the game has fed plenty of health and mana power-ups, almost too many, but again this is EARLY so this could change at any moment once I am fully into the game, I shall have to wait and see. So after about 3 hours of play, I find the game well worth purchase, and hope that it continues to be so as I continue into the game. Now does anyone who has played more have any thoughts they wish to share?? I will post more as I slowly work through the game.2.4KViews6likes9CommentsRasharn's sailships - Share your Screenshot!! 📷
Hey Immortals, We hope you've enjoyed exploring Aveum and loving the design of the Rasharnian, Lucium, and Kalthus regions. The teams shared some stunning screenshots (a few you might be able to find yourself) I'm curious if there is any other scenery or architecture that people have found fascinating and could share with us. Do you have any screenshots you use for PC or Mobile backgrounds, or print out for office art? Share with us below!!!152Views4likes0Comments
