Battlefield 6 Latency and Lag
I am getting all kinds of server side lag. My name on the scoreboard constantly shows a wifi symbol with an exclamation point through it. Here are some of things I am experiencing: Sliding in different directions like I am drifting. Severely delayed ADS Rubber-banding back and forth and watching friendlies and enemies do the same. When firing or receiving fire I die instantly with no one there. This problem existed in the beta and I assumed it was a server load problem. I tried various fixes and speedtests on my end and I have no problem in any other online game, including Battlefield 5. Is this a known issue? Is there a fix? Can we change are server location?Solved105KViews260likes633CommentsPSA: Mouse Input is broken in this game (looks similar to bad frame timing)
Mouse input is broken, which ruins an otherwise well optimised game. This looks to be getting confused with poor frame timing in a lot of threads, but controller input is unaffected. For reference, I easily average over 100fps even on the bigger maps, but panning the camera with mouse input makes the game feel like it's running at 15fps despite no drops. In-game reporting confirms it's running perfectly, as CPU/GPU are always rendering within 10fps of eachother. Connect a controller though? Buttery smooth camera panning, and easy to track enemies. No hitches or stutters, just butter. I've tried: - All polling rates, from 125hz up to 4000hz - Toggling raw input on/off - Enabling/disabling Nvidia reflex - Changing USB ports, changing to different mice, wired/wireless - USB power saving etc all turned off - I even tried a driver/Nvidia CP restore, but as controller is super smooth, this was a long shot in the first place Unfortunately the game is unplayable using a mouse on PC due to this. It's next to impossible to track targets, and you quickly get a headache from the micro stuttering when panning. The effect is very similar to Helldivers 2 on PC, when you turn off 'Mouse Smoothing', as that game has serious issues with raw mouse input. Happy to hear suggestions on how to fix this. Mice tried: - Keychron M4 - Logitech G305 - Logitech G604 - Razer Naga Hyperspeed - AttackShark M1 I've also tried on an entirely different PC, same results. OLED as always exhacerbates the issue too, due to the awesome pixel response times. I fear many won't see it due to slower LCDs. Specs are: 5700x3d 3060ti 8GB 32GB DDR4 3600 CL16 AW3423DW (Gsync module version) This is on a fresh Windows install, up to date drivers (tried DDU as well to be sure), but honestly since it's running beautifully with a controller, this looks to be purely a mouse input issue. No other games exhibit this issue other than... Helldivers 2, and Battlefield V. BF1 is butter on mouse, as are BF3 and BF4. Helldivers 2 can be fixed by turning on mouse smoothing in game. I almost bought a GPU upgrade before testing the Xbox controller, saved myself £600. Latest CM post: Hi everyone, Thanks for sharing your experiences and feedback so far. We understand this issue is especially frustrating when it impacts your ability to play smoothly with a mouse. While we’ve asked for similar information before (here), to move forward and make meaningful progress, it is absolutely essential that you provide detailed and precise information responding to the specific request below. Giving vague comments without concrete details won’t help us troubleshoot, escalate, or investigate effectively. If you’re able to, please reply directly to this post by clicking the Reply button on this post. This keeps your info neatly organised and makes it much easier for us (and the studio) to track everything. Please avoid replying to the original post or posting at the bottom of the thread, as this makes it harder for everyone to follow the conversation. Here’s what would be super helpful for us to know: Mouse mode (wired or wireless) Mouse polling rate (e.g. 1000Hz) Whether you’re using mouse software (like Razer Synapse) Where your mouse is plugged in (PC, monitor, hub, etc.) Keyboard model and connection type (wired/wireless) Keyboard polling rate Whether you’re using keyboard software Where your keyboard is plugged in Monitor model Full PC specs (CPU, GPU with driver version, RAM) Full Windows OS version (not just "Windows 11") Whether Gsync or VRR is enabled Full screen mode (fullscreen, borderless, windowed) Which platform do you play on (EA app or Steam) Any overlays active during play (Discord, EA app, Nvidia overlay, etc.) CPU and GPU usage percentages while playing Whether the issue improves with a framerate cap (e.g. 125 FPS) The more details you can share, the better we can help. We know it’s a lot to ask, but this is the only way we can ensure the right information reaches the team and move things forward. Thanks so much for your patience and for helping us out with this. We really appreciate it!Solved88KViews227likes1236CommentsBattlefield 6 - Mouse jittery * No workaround is working to fix this*
For 2042 the fix was an internal engine update where DICE moved mouse polling to a dedicated high-priority thread to decouple it from the frame rate. I am still amazed how is not fixed by now in battlefield 6. For me is a VERY BIG core issue for the game, I am playing the new map and I have 225 fps native but the feel is like 80 fps. None of the workarounds are functional. PLEASE DON'T SET THIS ON SOLVED! Guys, I'm having a problem with the FPS apparently being capped at approximately 50-60, both in multiplayer and in campaign and other modes. In the menu and training grounds, I get a little over 150 FPS, and before season 2, it was normal. Other games also continue to perform normally. I've already updated the NVIDIA drivers, tried adjusting the graphics settings on the card, the game, and even the startup parameters, but nothing has worked. The CPU and GPU are at a good percentage of usage, but the game is literally unplayable, with the screen unresponsive and crashing a lot. What I've tried: 1 Use the startup parameters in the EA Play app. [-unlockedfps -fpscap 0 -NoVSync -refresh 144 -dx12 (I tried dx11 as well)]. 2 I turned off G-SYNC and disabled all V-Sync options. 3 Adjusted the options related to frameratelimit in PROFSAVE_profile. 4 Removed the BF6 and D3DSCache cache folders. 5 Tried adjusting the graphics settings in the game and in the NVIDIA App, even changing FOV, low, high, and nothing changed the FPS. It affected the frametime, but did not improve the FPS. 6 Finally, I uninstalled the game, removing the regedit keys and any folders in Windows. 7 I reinstalled it and all settings were reset to default, including shortcuts and sensitivities, and the FPS remained stuck. In the attached image, I have included details of my machine's graphics usage and specifications. Thank you.78Views0likes3CommentsHit registration
Why does it feel like the hit registration only effects me in gun fights. When I play and close-quarters combat his giving me hit marks but no kill I change to ranged weapons. Last night really bothered me. I was 127m out sniping and I get 3 tapped my a m60 without any warning just insta death. And when I look at damage output f his weapon 37 damage 3 shots at 127m with a m60. BTW this dude was 73 and 1 at the end. Another one that s really bothering me is I'm using a DMR at 80m with 4x scope. Shot guy 1 2 3 4 5 times all hit marks but he turns around innsta kills with a tr7 with 3 head shots with 34 damage at 80m like where is the damage drop off and how did he just snap with a 1xzoom tr7 at 80m . I tested the the tr7 drops dmg at 20m and at 50m it's hard to even tap fire 3 head shots and still does less then 34dmg. This stuff is happening every game use to be every other game but now it's every game and multiple people a game. It's like hit registration does not effect them and damage drop off. Going through the forms, Google, youtube evewhere I see people talking about insta death dying in cover hit registration and cheating. This is the majority of the post about this game. So obvious it's a problem and yet won't fix it. OR YOU "CANT" FIX IT. if you cant fix it the proper this for a incompetent company to do is refund. But that's not going to happen you already sold your company to a game developer that likes pay to win stuff and micro transactions. You obviously don't care because months in still the same stuff. Just new cod sissy boii skins and charms. I still use the default skins. Been a fan when I first played 1942 with the DC mod. But Now you are a laughable company. Being made a joke every where. Hell even the hackers are making fun of you. Lol looking at the charts you lost more players on season 2 then you had on season 1. And you say this was a good season what you smoking. I find myself playing less then 20 mins a day. Have 500h in and after you didn't fix anything on season 2 I see how this game is going in the future. You are washed EA/Dice.[PC] Deploy screen FPS capped at ~30 after Season 1 update (Steam, AMD GPU)
Description After the Season 1 update, overall in-game performance remains normal, but the deploy / spawn screen appears to be capped around 30 FPS despite no framerate limits being enabled. CPU + GPU utilization both drop to ~20–30 % while in the deploy screen, then instantly return to normal values (60–70 % CPU / 80–90 % GPU) the moment the player presses Deploy. FPS also jumps back to the expected 230 – 310 FPS as soon as gameplay begins. Feels as though a hidden 30 FPS limiter or menu context throttle is being applied during the deploy screen. Steps to Reproduce Launch Battlefield 6 (Steam build, Season 1 patch). Join any multiplayer match. Observe FPS and GPU/CPU utilization in the deploy screen. Press Deploy → FPS instantly rises to normal gameplay levels. Expected Result Deploy screen should render at full framerate (same as in-game and main menu) unless an explicit FPS limit is set by the user. Actual Result Deploy screen runs at ~28–40 FPS with 20–30 % GPU/CPU usage until the player spawns, then returns to normal (230–310 FPS). Huge invasion of high ping players are now in BF 6. In practise, game engine hardly can keep when latency is even between the players. High ping players just bounce around and game engine cannot handle hit registration. Why do you let them ruin allready bad situation, what comes to gaming experience? This whole project is one bad example of poor execution.13Views0likes0Comments
