Draft Match Bug – Unable to Make Substitutions During the Game
Hello, I would like to report a bug that occurred during an Online Draft match in EA SPORTS FC 26. I spent 15,000 coins to enter the Draft after saving up for quite some time. During the match, I discovered that I was completely unable to access the squad management screen to make substitutions or tactical changes. Whenever I paused the game and attempted to enter the team management section, it would not work properly. I could navigate through other menus, watch replays, and access other pause menu options without any issues, but I could not make substitutions or adjust my squad in any way. I tried multiple times throughout the match, at different moments, but the issue persisted until the end of the game. As a result, I was placed at a significant disadvantage and was unable to use a basic gameplay feature that is essential during a Draft match. I believe this was a game bug, as there were no issues with my controller, connection, or any other game functions. I have a video recording of the incident and can provide it as evidence if needed. For weeks, the Hong Kong player base has been forced from a flawless 5 ping into unplayable 180+ ping lobbies. Now, EA has finally slipped out a statement exclusively on Bilibili (No global announcement, clearly terrified of letting the rest of the world see how easily they can kill off regional servers when it suits them). In it, they finally admit to "adjustments" to the matchmaking system. Your excuse? You claim that ruining our connection quality was done to "increase the ratio of real players instead of bots" and "speed up matchmaking". The Reality: Shameful corporate cost-cutting. Why don't think of why players number is dropping? It is a massive downgrade to a paid live-service product. Since the start of Season 3, I (along with others) have been seeing horrible "network" performance issues. I quote "network" because it does not appear to actually be a network issue directly. Please read details below before saying this is simply a local network, device issue, or ISP issue. For reference, I have symmetrical fiber internet over 1Gbps both up and down. My typical ping in BF6 is always <15ms (on the scoreboard even when this occurs). The average response time to most major network services on my network is also typically less than 15ms (and frequently less than 10ms). For months prior to season 3, I have been able to play BF6 on my PC handheld without issue. I've never seen any network problems both docked (on ethernet) or undocked (on wifi). Ever since season 3 was released, something has been broken. A match typically starts fine as it did before. Once I approach an enemy or fire at/take fire from one, my connection icons go crazy. Lag is apparent in-game, making it hard or extremely difficult to engage in a fight. This then persists for the remainder of the game. Looking at my network performance whenever this happens, all other services are completely fine. I also own the Xbox Series X version of this game and DO NOT experience this issue on that platform on the same EXACT network. Ever. There appears to be an issue with something on the PC version of BF6. Some users on reddit have speculated that it's an issue causing increased CPU usage by the anti-cheat software masquerading as a network performance issue. Whether or not that's the case, I don't know. But it's not just a network issue. If it was, I would be seeing this across my network and on the Xbox version of the game. My non-BF6 network performance graphs are regularly completely normal across the board when I've tried playing the PC version of the game. Low response times, high speeds, 0% packet loss. I've tried the following based on Reddit threads regarding the same issue: Repairing the anti-cheat software using the installer inside the root folder for BF6 Completely uninstalling, redownloading, and reinstalling the game Removing any USB peripherals and any external, removable storage Ran Steam's integrity check Both hardwired ethernet and wifi connections. The hardwired connection was the same on the Xbox Series X utilizes and performs fine on. Lowered all graphical settings to as low as they can go None of the above have worked. While I also understand it could be some kind of PC-related update on the Windows side or firmware side, I have a hard time believing that it ONLY affects BF6 and no other multiplayer games on the same platform. And that it coincidentally only started when the Season 3 update released. There are multiple Reddit threads on this issue as well. Hello EA/DICE team, I am reporting a serious performance issue that started after the latest Battlefield update. I used AI only to help me write and organize this report clearly, but the issue is real. This performance problem is happening to me and to some of my friends after the update, and it is making the game very frustrating to play. The problem is not limited to one map. It happens on all maps, and more than one of my friends is experiencing the same issue after the update. This makes it look like a general performance regression, not an isolated hardware problem. Before this update, the game was much more stable. After the patch, the game started having unstable FPS, frametime spikes, and noticeable stuttering across different maps and modes. My system: CPU: Ryzen 5 5600 GPU: RX 6650 XT RAM: 16GB DDR4 3200MHz CL16, dual channel Storage: SSD Monitor: 100Hz with VRR enabled The issue: - FPS is unstable on all maps. - The game has noticeable stuttering and micro-stutters. - Frametime feels worse even when the FPS counter looks acceptable. - The issue happens in multiple modes, especially larger modes like Conquest and Breakthrough. - Lowering graphics settings does not fully fix the problem. - Changing from high settings to low settings does not give enough improvement. - The same issue is happening to some of my friends after the same update. What I already tried: - Updated GPU drivers - Updated Windows - Tested different graphics presets - Tested low settings - Tested TAA/native resolution - Tested FSR and XeSS - Cleared shader cache - Closed background apps such as Discord - Tested FPS caps - Checked VRR - Tested different maps and modes This does not feel like a normal hardware limitation. My PC runs other games normally, and Battlefield itself was smoother before the latest update. Look at those spikes around Objective B on the Railway to Golmud map "Conquest". This happens only there! The rest of the map doesn't have this problem. My CPU usage normally sits around 55–65% on the rest of the map, but as soon as I enter the building near Objective B, it jumps to around 86–100%. What is going on, DICE? This issue appears to be part of the same long-running database problem that began with the Classic XI/Edit Teams bugs and is still affecting the game after the latest World Cup update. For many months, players have reported duplicate player entries, broken squad editing, players remaining attached to teams after transfers, and other database-related issues within Edit Teams. Despite numerous reports, these problems continue to appear in new forms after roster updates. Following the World Cup update, some players now appear to be incorrectly linked to national team databases. Attempting to move, remove, or edit these players can result in duplicate entries, duplicate squad numbers, or players remaining in places where they should no longer exist. The core problem is not a single player or team. The problem is that the database itself appears to become corrupted when certain players are edited. This creates duplicates and inconsistent player records that can then be carried into Career Mode saves. For Career Mode users, this is a major issue because Edit Teams is often used to create custom databases before starting a long-term save. Once duplicate players or broken records are introduced, the entire save can be affected. This appears to be the same family of issues that started with the Classic XI/Edit Teams bugs and has never been fully resolved. The latest World Cup update seems to have introduced additional cases of the same underlying database problem.Can the team please investigate the underlying database and player-linking system rather than treating these as isolated player-specific reports? Noticed significant FPS drop to 40 from 280 in firing range, adjusted all settings to lowest and no change. Roll back driver and back to 280 consistently in firing range.
