SMB4 crashing on launch EA app PC
Metalhead logo with sound plays. Cutscene plays with sound. SMB4 logo appears and game crashes. I have tried: Allowing a Windows Firewall Exception. Adding a "High Performance" entry in Nvidia Control Panel Disabled Nvidia Overlay Repairing in EA app. Running EA as admin. Running SMB4 as admin. Running SMB4 in compatibility mode. Repairing Microsoft Visual Redistributables in the games files Repairing Microsoft Visual Redistributables through Windows. Using the EA Cleanup tools in the game files Re-installing. Re-installing on a different drive/directory. Running SFC /scannow to search for damaged files. Soft reinstalling Windows with Media Creation Tool. Reformatting my entire PC. Windows 10 home 64 bit. Ryzen 7 5800x. RTX 4070. 32GB 3200mhz RAM. 1TB m.2 SSD I have the same error every single time. I found the error in event viewer. My research says that the ucrtbase.dll is tied to the Microsoft Visual Redistros, which is why repairing those was part of my troubleshooting. This game is blowing up my system.
My computer's been rock solid for three years, and I only got one BSOD when trying to configure memory in the first few hours it was alive. The only other unforced shutdown was about a year ago when we lost power. This game has shut my system down with a BSOD four times in four days. Playing for more than 30 minutes at a time causes a BSOD related to the memory that I need to flush the CMOS battery for Windows to restart. Super annoying. I've run a ton of diagnostic software and none of my hardware is having issues, including running three different memory testers, which all came back with no indication of a problem. I'm able to run higher-demanding games for much longer sessions, but this game is blowing up my computer. lol [CM: adding a spoiler tag for the DXDIAG info just to clean up the post a bit]
