Why? What Happened To The Game?
Thought I would post because I’m curious as to why the series releases games that aren’t fully functional? I play mostly Franchise mode and have had numerous issues with the game randomly freezing and dashboarding me. All that time wasted for nothing? Many other bugs in this game that probably won’t be fixed until like NHL 29… As of now the QOL features are sustainable and I find myself losing interest. BAP would be great if it wasn’t all about scoring goals and the form score is quite annoying. Other problems we can’t play a full junior season like back in NHL 20 and previous games. Drop-in 6’s have turned into a waiting simulator and it’s boring having to play outdoors and use casual same generic clothing not being able to select teams. Hut has turned into an LT pressure exploiting gong show and it’s getting worse. I was curious as to why gameplay and these features are so minimal. I heard EA NHL team was small like 20-30 people. So after reviewing credits of this game there were over 200 development members working on this? I know bigger games that use way more development which are release earlier than the NHL series who have less team members? So question is why are we given such a low grade half finished game for such an expensive price? Heck this game isn’t even on Gamepass yet which sadly it should be. It feels like a scam and the fact Microsoft won’t give me a refund really makes me feel duped. Hoping NHL 27 is better but I don’t understand why NHL 26 can’t be fixed? Who cares if devs have to put servers offline for a couple days or a week even. At least the game would be playable!
We need bans and suspensions
Why is it that in EVERY other game, there is a report for griefing option and subsequent penalties for destroying games and wasting peoples time. This is an embarrassment. It feels like nearly half of drop ins are ruined by goalies purposely leaving the net to get scored on, players purposely scoring on their own goalies to get them to quit, taking interference penalties on cooldown, teammates getting into screaming matches and acting like children. All of this with NO punishment, no auto detection, not even a report system. Please work on this, I promise you there are players who have stopped playing because they are solos and have no other option but get their EASHL games ruined and their time wasted. You're losing money because of these people ruining matches.
UNSOLICITED ADVICE!!!
i don't know who needs to hear this, but here goes: i've played every iteration of this game since NHLPA 93. watched it evolve over time to where it is today. I'm going to give you some unsolicited advice for the 3v3 and 6v6 Chel Club players out there: if you go down by multiple goals EARLY just back out. just quit at that moment. Don't stick around to get pounded into the net. it is not worth it. TIME IS YOUR ONLY REAL CURRENCY. why waste that precious commodity to get pulverized by people who spend Way Too Much Time Playing This Game (no offense. it's your life, if you want to spend it playing this game, be my guest!). YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO STAY IN GAMES! who cares about backout/quitting penalties? who cares about your club rank? aren't we here to ENJOY THE GAME WE SPENT MONEY TO PLAY????? go find a matchup you can actually ENJOY! go find an opponent who is on your level BECAUSE EA WON'T DO IT FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! until they fix matchmaking it is up to you to Have A Good Time. Just last night, my club went down in a game within 10 minutes 4-0 and we all said "nah. let's back out" AND THEN WE WENT ON A TEAR AND WON A BUNCH OF FUN GAMES!!!!!! tl;dr IT IS UP TO YOU TO MONITOR THE MATCHMAKING SITUATION. DON'T FEEL BAD ABOUT QUITTING AND FINDING A BETTER MATCHUP.
Suggestions to improve BaP
I have enjoyed NHL 26 but here are some things I think would greatly improve the game: -Even with slider adjustments the goalies cover the puck way too often. Make it so the game keeps flowing and the puck isn't covered every time the goalie catches the puck. -line changing shouldn't be so difficult. The arrow will change from one door to the other constantly when you skate to the bench. Once you skate to the designated area there should be a button to press to hop out -in be a pro energy gets depleted way too quickly and effects the attributes way too much. I like the realism but tone it down a little. I have had to spend 90% of my attribute points to replenish energy instead of into the players abilities -overall the sliders don't effect the game enough. Even setting the goalie to cover the puck at 0 they will cover it all the time. Make each slider adjustment have more actual effect on the game. Madden has mastered this so you can make incremental adjustments to make the game more fun/realistic to the players preferences. TL;DR: Scoring consistency appears reduced, with standard shot types being far less effective than chaotic or transitional situations. After the latest gameplay tuning update, scoring consistency appears to be severely skewed toward chaotic events, while standard hockey scoring mechanics have become largely ineffective across multiple matches. Observed Issues 1) Over-Effectiveness of Set Goalies Goalies are nearly unbeatable when squared to the puck. Wrist shots, snap shots, and controlled slot shots from most angles now result in routine saves the vast majority of the time. 2) Deflections and Screens No Longer Provide Value Net-front presence, tips, and deflections rarely result in goals or rebounds. Goalies consistently secure the puck cleanly, even with heavy traffic. 3) One-Timers Over-Corrected by Goalie Tracking One-timers appear significantly nerfed due to aggressive lateral tracking. Goalies often reposition almost instantly, creating a “teleporting” effect that eliminates scoring opportunities from well-executed cross-ice plays. 4) Goals Heavily Biased Toward Chaos Most goals now occur primarily during unstructured situations such as: - AI collisions - Scramble scenarios - Failed clearances or unintended turnovers Structured offensive zone pressure and controlled playstyles produce disproportionately low scoring results. Expected Behavior Standard scoring mechanics (slot shots, tips, screens, and one-timers) should provide reliable scoring probability when executed correctly. Chaos-based goals should complement—not replace—these mechanics. Actual Behavior Scoring success is almost entirely dependent on chaotic events, while normal hockey scoring actions have near-zero effectiveness. Impact This disproportionately penalizes structured, possession-based playstyles and reduces gameplay clarity, fairness, and consistency in Ranked. Regards hasmatasBe a pro simple improvements
EA_Aljo Hello, I am a long time fan of the NHL video game series and the be a pro in particular has always had a special place in my heart. Seeing the changes of the be a pro mode from NHL 25 to NHL 26 has been a positive experience, however there are some factors that limit my enjoyment of the game mode that I will list here. X-factors are not fitting or balanced across archetypes. For example power forwards do not have access to the truculence x-factor, two way forwards have access to neither stick’em up or quick pick, and playmakers not having access to ankle breaker etc. The two ways that i recommend for solving this are 1: reviewing archetypes and giving each similar amounts of x-factors, with every archetype receiving access to all x-factors linked to their main strengths, for example power forward having access to body checking and puck protection x factors, grinders and two way forwards having access to all defensive x factors. Or 2: Giving all archetypes access to all x-factors but requiring different amounts of x factor points to gain access to them depending on archetype. The second issue I have with the career mode is certain attributes being hard capped at ratings lower than 99, most importantly acceleration being capped at 88, making it impossible to unlock higher levels of the wheels x-factor. I would therefore like to see a change where every attribute can be upgraded through gameplay actions that are common in regular gameplay, for speed and acceleration that could be xp each time the player controlled character makes a controlled zone entry. I would severely appreciate it if you discussed this with the team. Other than these two inconveniences I find the NHL 26 BAP gameplay enjoyable. I hope to hear from you soon. First of all I truly hope someone on the EA team catches this and does something about it because this is ridiculous. I had a relocation team in Houston and everything was ok until my primary color and parts of my arenas colors magically changed to purple. My colors were originally set as red, white and brown/dark red. I didn't think it was a big deal because I thought I could fix it in the offseason, like in previous games. Turns out, you can't edit jerseys and arena on relocation teams! Who thought this was a good idea? Please catch this and make it right, this is absolutely ridiculous. So to spell it out clearly; Make it possible to edit jerseys and arenas on EVERY SINGLE custom team in franchise mode. I have bought every single one of these games, even the ones that a lot of people boycotted. I've had problems but this is honestly the last straw. 27 needs to be something different.
hut set's team of the season bugged
Hi, I completed the David Pastrnak 97 Tots in Hut set yesterday, but the card completely disappeared once I got it. I hope you can fix it. I also had a different type of error with Shea Weber 92ovr, and no one fixed anything, no one even responded. It's sad to have these types of problems in such an important game, where the slowness and counterintuitive menus already put off the desire to complete sets and daily quests.LINE CHANGES / MULTI BUILDS
i have a limited amount of time to change my build pre-game based off who i'm playing. wouldn't it be great, instead, to perform a line change mid-game so i can get a different build to counter my opponent? offensive/defensive zone draws might want to have a different player out there? I’m in Newfoundland Canada on the east coast and get 40 ping which is whatever. The main problem is the server is in Montreal and I play Montreal players on less than 5 every game. Why can you set the ping between certain ranges. Either that or a server needs to be further east. Playing people living right on top of a server while I have delay just makes me not want to play this game especially HUT.Be a pro era mode

Chel doesn’t have Datsyuk alumni card for the magic man # 13 , what gives? I think the majority of hockey fans can agree he was the top dog when it comes to the dangles and dekes and was an all around solid hockey player. I’ve heard from many pros and guys from Spittin Chiclets claiming he was without a doubt one of the all time greats in hockey so please make him a card and don’t disrespect the game of hockey!Visual Bug/Immersion: Red light triggers despite referee's wash-out signal
Hi EA Team, I have a suggestion to improve the game's realism and immersion regarding goal-scoring logic. The Issue: Currently, when a goal is disallowed immediately on the ice, the red goal light behind the net still triggers. Even if the referee is already performing the wash-out signal (spreading arms wide to wave off the goal), the light turns on as if it were a legal goal. The Suggestion: Please synchronize the goal light trigger with the referee's decision. If the referee signals "no goal" immediately, the red light should stay dark. This small detail would significantly improve the authenticity of the broadcast presentation.
