Will there ever be an option to turn off retired numbers in Season Mode?
Hi EA, I have a question about retired jersey numbers in NHL. In some older NHL games, there was an option to turn retired numbers off in certain game modes, including Season Mode. I can't find this option in NHL 26. Would it be possible to add an option to turn off retired numbers in Season Mode, so players can continue using those numbers if they want to? Thank you.Hamrr101 hour agoSeasoned Novice3Views0likes0CommentsHitting
So is the delay of the Be A Pro player character to hit going to get changed in 2027? I feel like when I try to hit( even when I am in top of a NPC) it’s deliberately delayed so I miss. Yet I can speed by a defensman and somehow they still are able to get just a piece still hit and/or destroy the Be A Pro player for a big hit. So unfair as it has happened for many years. Maybe not the big hits but always not being able to just use speed like regular NHL Players.4Views0likes0CommentsPlayer changes.
Fix line changes where players stay tired on the ice. It’s like you’re hacking to keep my players tired on the ice when they should be able to get on the bench by hopping over the boards when I say it’s time to change. Why can I click to the next line and players don’t do anything about it. I shouldn’t need to press the button twice for it to say I’m going from line 1 to 2– And then nobody changes unless I press it 6 times!! And sometimes, the game will be like nah that was 5 so you end up on the same line trying to press it another 6 times for the game to say nah that was 7 now. I shouldn’t have to look to make sure it’s right because it’s not consistent. I’m probably being hacked by the ea content team that’s trying to look like they’re better at the game than they really are.57b5d94b0eaeb75916 hours agoSeasoned Newcomer4Views0likes0CommentsThis game is so awful now it’s a disgrace even NHL on it
In the last two or three weeks, this game must be increasingly becoming the worst hockey game I’ve ever played. Right now all you play is lagging people, glitching, and exploit professionals. Once again, and four games today up by multiple goals in the third period, only to have a lag come in and suddenly my guys become mud play players, and the other team skates around the circle of scores multiple goals in less than three minutes….. And don’t get me started on the Quebec players. Same thing playing a game up to one four minutes to go, open that my guy the entire system, legs and freezes and as a spike or something, they take the puck up score 3 goals and less than four minutes…. Of course, EA will blame the signal, the Internet, the gravitational pool of the moon on the Earth today. But they do not take any actions against absolute cheats, cause this is rampant with cheaters and laggers and explorers. you catered to the people that buy packs only to keep these people happy and that’s the problem…..this game has become pathetic46Views0likes2CommentsDepth in BAP
This has been mentioned, but my current situation in BAP begs repeating it. We need information regarding the status of what prospects are in the pipeline and other key elements. I don’t expect to have any control as a player, but it’s nice to know when considering whether or not I want to stay with a team or sign with a new team. Irl, players, especially higher end ones, absolutely have an idea of what they’re walking into either way. I’m in the eighth season (I think) on the Blackhawks and we’ve had tremendous success since my second season with the team. This past offseason, we lost both Bedard and Debrincat to free agency so I’m on the first line with two middle six guys. Okay. It’s an opportunity to carry right now but playoffs might be an issue. Lol. Our defensive core is still pretty solid and we have a good ‘tender so I’m looking at this as a retooling. But what are we doing? Will we make moves at the deadline? I doubt we have any high end prospects given our lack of high draft picks. But what do I do? Do I resign at the end of the year or do I test free agency? I hate the thought of leaving my beloved Hawks but I’d like to know what the plan is.Kaner11386 days agoRising Vanguard39Views0likes2CommentsI have no words
I have asked before why the Be A Pro ( and actually spell it out as BAP doesn’t seem to be understood) stick does not do anything it is supposed to. I can’t actually control a poke check as my stick always go to the puck. Even when I do the hold and redirect it. Nowadays that slows me down and even if I block a pass the puck still makes it. I guess I am saying why doesn’t the stick of a Be A Pro actually be more effective than a NPC?14Views0likes0CommentsPlaying for over 26 years? Probably more!
Okay I actually have a floppy disk that I bought because a nephew said it was good. So I bought it. It sucked compared to other games I played. I played or bought more games since then some not even sports games. What I don’t understand is why you don’t listen to the people who play your games!30Views0likes2CommentsEnergy?
Okay I have been paying attention to my health bar. In 2 day it barely goes up a single bar! Are you telling me I now have to spend energy point because a NHL player doesn’t recover in 2 days? That is total **bleep**. I can see back to back games. Can we go back to just division of our own experience depending on how many games we play?9f0db5uny7xo7 days agoNew Traveler11Views0likes0CommentsNHL 26 offline play
This game is still unplayable in offline mode! CPU AI is completely overtuned, on breakaways i cant even follow the AI controlled forwards! The puck is like a magnet 🧲 on the CPU sticks, once i poke it away in the next second its back on their sticks, hitting on CPU forwards has no effect, even the puck stays on their stick after a big hit?!?! When CPU is on full pressure, you can count down the seconds, when they score?! Every rebound from my goalie land on CPU forwards stick and they score in 9 of 10 cases! In a few words, this game is totally scripted unfair unlogic garbage and has nothing to do with a hockey simulation, go home EA and reset your brains at Saudi Arabia, 2k, please bring back the NHL series, 2k10 is still much more funny than any EA hockey games!!!!Hias197110 days agoNew Rookie56Views0likes2CommentsNHL 26 Be A Pro Feedback. Great Game, Frustratingly Underdeveloped Career Mode
I want to start by saying that I genuinely love NHL 26. I play it almost daily, I’ve created four different Be A Pro careers, and I think the actual on-ice gameplay is excellent. The play-by-play in particular may be the best I’ve experienced in any sports game. That’s also why Be A Pro frustrates me so much. EA already makes other sports games, particularly Madden, that offer substantially deeper and more functional single-player career experiences. NHL 26 has an excellent hockey game underneath Be A Pro, but too many of the systems surrounding the actual games feel shallow, tedious, unfinished, or like they provide the appearance of player agency without actually providing it. Here are the biggest issues I’ve encountered across four careers: Injury frequency is absurd I understand injuries are part of hockey and absolutely think they belong in Be A Pro. But across four different created careers, I have experienced at least one significant long-term injury in essentially every season when injuries are enabled. I cannot seem to simply play through a complete season. There’s a huge difference between injuries being a realistic risk and long-term injuries feeling inevitable. Turning injuries completely off shouldn’t be the only practical way to consistently experience full seasons. The progression/energy system creates pointless menu busywork The system requiring energy to allocate toward different areas of player development is fine in concept. The implementation makes no sense. If I want seven days of energy, I have to manually click Advance Day seven times. If I simply simulate/skip those seven days, I don’t accrue the energy the same way. Why? Seven in-game days have passed either way. There is no gameplay, strategy or meaningful decision involved in making the player repeatedly click through individual days. It just discourages using the game’s simulation functions and creates unnecessary menu friction. If time passes in the career, the associated progression resources should accrue regardless of whether I manually advanced through every individual day. GM interaction and trade requests provide almost no actual player agency The ability to interact with your GM sounds like a meaningful career feature, but in practice it barely functions as one. I can request a trade. The GM can say no. And then…that’s basically it. There may be no meaningful opportunity to revisit the request or interact with management about it again for the remainder of the season. Why include a career-management feature if the player’s involvement can effectively amount to pressing “Request Trade,” receiving “No,” and losing access to the system? There should be ongoing interaction: follow-up requests, reasons for a denial, discussions about role or ice time, the ability to influence management’s decision, conversations about team direction, or some form of negotiation. Right now it creates the appearance of player choice without providing meaningful flexibility. The conversation/relationship system feels like a huge missed opportunity Conversations themselves seem relatively rare and random. Then, when an interesting one finally occurs, potentially valuable responses are frequently locked behind conversation-related traits. The problem is that trait points are scarce and valuable. Spending them on conversation abilities that appear to have little usefulness outside these rare encounters is difficult to justify compared with improving your actual player. Even worse, there’s no meaningful way to know beforehand that you’re going to need a particular conversation trait. You enter a rare interaction, discover that the response you actually want requires an ability you haven’t upgraded, and by then it’s too late to do anything about it. That’s not really character development because you’re not making an informed choice. You’re guessing beforehand which randomly occurring future conversations might require which traits. This system could add enormous immersion to Be A Pro. Relationships and conversations with teammates, coaches, management, media, agents, etc. could make it feel like an actual NHL career rather than a sequence of hockey games connected by menus. Instead, the current implementation makes conversations too infrequent and the progression system surrounding them too opaque for them to accomplish that. The commentary is excellent — but Be A Pro career awareness is bizarrely bad This one is especially frustrating because NHL 26’s actual play-by-play is outstanding. But Be A Pro seems to have both reduced the amount of career-specific contextual commentary AND failed to properly track basic career states. I’m in Year 3 and still hearing commentary referring to my player in rookie terms — making a rookie impact, proving himself, etc. The game knows I’m in my third season. There should be MORE contextual commentary as a career progresses: rookie expectations, first goals, milestones, awards, previous seasons, playoff history, records, changing expectations and accomplishments. EA has already done the difficult part by creating an excellent broadcast/commentary system. Having that system correctly recognize whether my player is a rookie or a third-year NHL player seems like one of the most basic pieces of career-mode customization. Early-career penalties are made worse by contextual control problems around the net I’m willing to give the penalty system some leeway because Discipline is an attribute that can be improved. A young player with poor Discipline being more penalty-prone makes sense. What doesn’t make sense is getting penalized because the game misinterprets an obvious attempt to shoot the puck. During chaotic scrums in front of the goalie — loose puck, rebounds, several players clustered around the crease — the input I’m using to attempt a rebound/quick shot can instead trigger contact/cross-check behavior and result in an interference penalty. There are situations where I feel more likely to receive an interference penalty while repeatedly trying to shoot a loose puck than I am to actually get a scoring attempt. That’s not really a Discipline problem. That’s contextual input recognition. If there’s a loose puck sitting in scoring position and I’m pressing the shot input, the game should prioritize the obvious intent to shoot rather than trigger an illegal-contact animation against somebody standing nearby. Overall The frustrating thing is that none of this comes from thinking NHL 26 is a bad game. It’s almost the opposite. The actual hockey is good enough that I keep playing it constantly. What I don’t understand is why Be A Pro feels so far behind the single-player career experiences EA already provides in its other sports franchises. Madden demonstrates that EA understands how to build deeper career progression, player agency and contextual career experiences. Be A Pro doesn’t need to become a giant RPG. It just needs the systems surrounding the hockey to actually matter. Give us meaningful career choices. Make GM interactions functional. Make conversations consequential rather than random and opaque. Let progression happen without repetitive menu clicking. Track the basic context of our careers. Balance injuries so completing a season is actually possible. And make sure contextual controls understand the difference between trying to shoot a rebound and trying to cross-check somebody. There’s an excellent hockey game at the center of NHL 26. I just want the experience of being a pro to receive the same level of attention as the experience of playing hockey.shepcee10 days agoSeasoned Newcomer39Views1like2CommentsMore frustration with the AI in BAP
Apparently, we lost Debrincat and Bedard to free agency and I’m on the first line with two middle six guys. Whatever. I’m a 98 so I’m carrying the best that I can. But what really ticked me off this morning was 3 on 3 OT. My linemate kept dumping it in which caused us to lose possession more than once. Obviously, I’m going to have to adjust and call for it every time so I can carry it into the zone. But I hate the fact that I have to do that. Again, it shows that the AI is useless.Kaner113812 days agoRising Vanguard12Views0likes0CommentsAnticipating
Has anyone else noticed that in Be A Pro that the NPC’s seem to anticipate your moves? I can barely touch a controller nowadays without a NPC already moving away or dumping a puck to avoid my Be A Pro. Yet if I wait for a NPC to make a deke then move I still miss or bounce off.9f0db5uny7xo14 days agoNew Traveler21Views0likes0CommentsTradeable Teams List Calculation is Wrong
Game Mode: Franchise Mode Platform: Xbox Series X|S Issue Description There is a fundamental logic and math error in how Modified No-Trade Clauses (M-NTC) calculate tradeable teams in Franchise Mode. Instead of applying the clause exclusively to the 31 other teams in the league, the game uses a flat backend subtraction based on total league size (32 - Clause Count = Tradeable Pool. Because of this, the player's own current team is automatically forced to occupy one of their No-Trade restriction slots. This creates a faulty calculation that artificially inflates the tradeable teams pool: • With an 8-team NTC, the game calculates 32 - 8 = 24 tradeable teams. • However, because a player's current team cannot be traded to anyway, having it occupy one of the 8 NTC slots means only 7 actual external teams are being blocked. • Out of the 31 other teams in the league, blocking 7 results in 31 - 7 = 24 tradeable teams. The Core Problem: Players are being shortchanged out of a true 8-team external restriction because their home team is stealing one of their block slots, artificially inflating their tradeable pool to 24 instead of the correct 23 (31 - 8 = 23). Steps to Reproduce 1. Start or load any Franchise Mode save. 2. Inspect any player card belonging to a skater with an M-NTC (e.g., an 8-team No-Trade clause). 3. Observe the Tradeable Teams List counter, which incorrectly displays 24 tradeable teams. 4. Note that because the player's current team is silently taking up one of the 8 NTC slots, only 7 external teams are actually restricted out of the 31 available trade partners (31 - 7 = 24), rather than properly enforcing a full 8-team block against the rest of the league (31 - 8 = 23) Supporting Evidence • Screenshot of Jokiharju with the 32-8=24 bug • Video of trading away Jokiharju and unable to trade back for him and Zacha who if also traded earlier PS Posting this here because it seems to get ignored in the bugs forum.XaviRonaldo090416 days agoSeasoned Newcomer14Views0likes0CommentsHockey ultimate team

Why in BAP does your stick feel useless in a defensive situation? All you can do is wave it around as you really have no control over your stick? Maybe that’s just as a forward. But since I don’t seem to be able to play a centre before I am the highest point player in a team anymore I need better programming on the BAP stick please.9f0db5uny7xo19 days agoNew Traveler61Views0likes4CommentsI think this should be a third period only game...
4 minute periods really fudges the clock , screws up PPs and PKs or you make them realistic and people use them to troll and extend game times... At least if we play third period hockey , the clock gets screwed less. And we still have overtime. And you can have the gam face up/down still if youre playing a buddy on the couch. What nhl game do you see almost 2 minutes of game time go by for someone to skate to the bench and line change ... a quarter of the clock can be spent line changing every period. Which is why I suggested no animations for line changes, just a blip and change. There isn't enough time for the animations. Or the goalie takes wayyy too long to get to the bench for an extra skater . 3, 4 minute periods are bad.Dixonyu21 days agoNew Scout32Views0likes0CommentsEa needs to change attributes
The attribute system has been a core issue for a long time, and has never made sense , has always been inflated stats . Datsyuk and crosby at over 80 fighting being enforcers. Mcdavid and Patrick Kane having high defensive IQ, even Evan Bouchard, lol. Speed I believe min stat is 50 ... so its not a 0-100% thing, 100 doesnt mean 11.2 seconds to skate around the rink , or 50 isnt John Scott skating around the rink. Speed is almost something that needs to be calculated of size, Speed, strength, balance . Slap shot power. 100 isnt 107..9 mph in game or 113 in the asg. And 50 isnt the lowest it can go. Again needs to be factored in off stick flex , size , speed , strength , hand eye. The overall needs to be the average of each category of skills combined , not each stat. No more inflating stats so someone can have the highest rating. If mcdavid is the best offensive player I want his offensive stats to reflect that , and his defensive stats to reflect he is #2 in give aways # 1 in bad give aways ( stats can easily prove this to the haters ) . Or Bouchard should have a much higher off rating than defensive. No way those guys fight stats are above 50 they don't fight!! Make sense of attributes and take advantage of the skating data, and technology yiu have acquired EA. Always said poke is broken because momentum doesnt play a factor into it.Dixonyu21 days agoNew Scout80Views1like2Comments
