- That's not true. For all my other games, all content is shared to every account on the ps4. The content is saved to the ps4, it's just this game for some reason that doesn't give out all content. This is a problem. I ordered the Deluxe edition so I should be playing the deluxe edition, which means that I get my emoji faces and my viking stuff and my Grass Effect Imp.
First, thank you for asking around. Second, the answer you got makes no sense. The content should be assigned to the installation, allowing any account (main or sub) to claim it.

Im just passing what I was told but I will for sure go back and ask some other people to make sure this is how it works and see if theres anything we can do
It usually depends on the type of content the bonus is. For stuff like DLCs, those are shared amount all sub accounts, for other stuff like consumables (think FIFA packs, or coins from PvZ GW 1) those are only allotted to the account purchasing them. It looks like the deluxe content is typed as a consumable in this case.
- But it's not a consumable. It's advertised as being part of the game you're buying. In other games I get what I pay for on other accounts no matter what. The Deluxe edition comes with those items, so that means my game is supposed to be "the deluxe version" of PvZ. It's a bit sad that we are cheated out of items we paid for
I guess I just have a different expectation coming from FIFA. In the deluxe version of FIFA, you are given 3k FIFA points to start out (similar to GW2 deluxe giving you 200k coins). I never expected that copy of the game to grant me 3k points on every account I used, and it sure didn't.
I am sure that's just how the deluxe bonuses were coded in this case.

Yes in this case it is set up as a consumable, hence only being allowed to use it for the one account, same with the coins you get for the pre-order
- Yea, it seems like a huge oversight considering these are characters and that the deluxe digital version is seen as its own product that includes said items. I hope someone wouldn't expect me to pay 69.99 again for my imp and other items
- And now the problem becomes who will return my money so i can rebuy the game on the account that mainly plays
- Deluxe Edition includes:
• Grass Effect Pack – Z7 Imp & Mech in-game character variant
• Exclusive plant class custom accessories pack – full customization set for a plant class character
• Exclusive zombie class custom accessories pack – full customization set for a zombie class character
• Mystery character variant pack – guaranteed plant or zombie character variant unlock
• PvZ Coins starter pack – instant pack of in-game PvZ Coins
And here is the description on psn. It says the deluxe edition includes these items. It doesn't talk about a seperate code or anything. It says the game I'm buying comes with these items. There's even a 9.99 add on advertised on the psn store. I mean I understand your frustration, but all the deluxe version is from Playstation Store standpoint is a bundle that contains the standard full game (durable) and the deluxe bonuses (consumables) so things are working as intended from that point of view.
Seems like the only thing you can do now is either to explain your situation to the support staff to see if they can do anything to grant you the bonuses on your primary account, or seek to refund the game from your second account and repurchase it on your primary account.
- See but this is the first game where I haven't gotten my consumables from a deluxe edition. Mkx for example, i can use all the extra stuff on other accounts on my ps4
Most likely those extra stuff/bonus are coded as durables rather than consumables.
Well, PSN now lists the following:
Plants vs. Zombies™ Garden Warfare 2: Deluxe Upgrade
Electronic Arts Inc
Add-On|Released Feb 23, 2016
The Deluxe Upgrade includes:
• Grass Effect Z7 Imp and Mech character variant
• Plant class custom accessories pack – full customization set for a plant class character
• Zombie class custom accessories pack – full customization set for a zombie class character
• Mystery character variant pack – guaranteed plant or zombie character variant unlock
• 200,000 PvZ Coins pack and moreAgain, described as an upgrade to the game, not as a consumable by one (main account only at that) PSN account.
- Basically we are being cheated out of our rewards
Solved? How is this a solution?
@EA_Jenni wrote:I asked around, the way it works on PS4 is the pre-order content is allotted to one account only, which I suppose defaults it to the main account.
Basically your game upgrade and special perk for pre-ordering is a not an upgrade but the equivalent of a in-app purchase for the main PSN account.
As it stands in the form of this solution - it's a ripoff.

This is not well thought out. This is a game mostly kids play from alternate accounts since the parents pay for it on their main accoount. My kid saved for the deluxe preorder edition for some time. Needless to say I have one very sad kid now after I came here and saw why his mailbox was empty. At least he has all his characters from the first game but this is a really strange and frustrating decision from the devs.
Why not just give it to the first account that claims it?

I'm having the same problem with xbox one. I haven't accepted my rewards yet. But as a parent im not happy that my kid is SOL. I don't have my son as the main account for good reasons.
Just to let everybody know, basically we have to either rebuy the deluxe edition, or we can do as EA or Popcap wants and buy their $10 deluxe upgrade dlc. Sony told me this was done by the developers specifically, that they did not want anybody to share the extra content which is why it shows that you didn't even purchase the deluxe edition on even the main account. It will only show that you bought the standard addition and now you can't get the $10 upgrade. It's a real saddening thing they have done here.
Interesting - and very bad approach to their customers.
Is there any reason to believe the 10$ deluxe upgrade DLC will behave any differently? After all the original deluxe pre-order was a bundle of the game and the deluxe upgrade DLC.
If the deluxe upgrade DLC is available to all accounts (main + sub) then the original purchase was a blatant ripoff. If it's still restricted to the main account then it's not an upgrade and is still a ripoff.
It's a bad treatment of their loyal users either way.
Very frustrating.
I'm going through the same problem here with my version of PS4. I have my main account (PSN +) and my son the secondary.
I bought the pre order just to access the Z7. Nowhere I found the information that this item would be available only for the primary account. I felt cheated and my son is disappointed with this situation.I wish EA rethink this.
@EIKERIOS This information wasn't mentioned anywhere. Look at PRE-ORDER / DELUXE EDITION REWARDS FAQ - it points to this thread and was updated with this information only after the thread was "solved". I doubt many parents would have bought the deluxe pre-order for their kids (who are using sub-accounts) had it been known in advance.
Frankly, I understand EA setting this up as consumables to avoid sharing the upgrades. Having said that, they do have the details of the main account as well as any associated accounts via ea.com and via PSN. Just hard is it to set up these consumables for the specific accounts?

Bummer. Seeing there was a thread I was hoping there was an actual solution.
Sub accounts have caused me nothing but frustration and wasted time trying to work out why nothing works!!
Absolutely sick of this. Should have set my son up with a full account.
- Anonymous10 years ago
I just purchased the Deluxe Upgrade on a sub account, AND coins, I purchased it via Playstation App, but when I started GW2, there was nothing in my mailbox. Before purchasing it, the mailbox never gave me an option to upgrade.
