Re: Console cheats

@mumofharry I tried everything I could think of. I had some weird snapping problems with the curtains and poles from the Modern Luxe kit too but found a workaround on a bug thread for the Desert Luxe curtains (window has to be placed after curtains/poles).
I've spent more time over the last few days waving throw pillows and curtain poles in the air lol. It's as if the throw pillows drop to the floor like stones instantly no matter what I do.
Since I've never used cheats in all my 20 odd simming years I don't know how to get them to work. I'd usually uninstall and reinstall everything, power cycle, clear locally saved data, but since it's a cheat I'm clueless.

    @simsplayer818Yeah the curtains are tricky for me too they work better if you cycle to enable freemove (not sure if that's the right word lol ) its where the full and half tile cycle is. if you can raise and lower other objects you must be doing it right the only other thing i can suggest is use the bb.moveobjects place the cushion on the floor pick it up cycle enable free move and then hold lt rt press arrow up to see if that works

    @mumofharry yes I found that too with the short curtains on a short wall. Then I was using tall walls and it didn't work anymore but luckily I found the workaround for removing the windows.

    I feel like I've been testing for hours with these throw pillows again lol. But I ended up making decorative fake seating with platforms in the end so I could still use them and I'm still happy with the results. I can get plushies to sit on sofas and beds but the throw pillow just doesn't let me place it on any beds or seating.

    So I think it may be a bug with the throw pillow on Xbox series X possibly 🤔.

    @simsplayer818

    Thanks for the info on this! Have you tested these specific pillows on another lot as well or in another save game to see if you're able to raise them?

    @simsplayer818   Hey!  I found your thread!  But I promise I'm not stalking you!  lol   Mostly I thought it would be better to continue the discussion here and get out of the other thread.  :-)

    That is super frustrating.  I was going to ask if it happens with other furniture but it looks like you've answered that question already.  The plushie on the couch is adorable, btw.

    One thing I just thought of ... is it possible that, when you hold the triggers to raise/lower, it is also changing the free placement toggle to full grid?  It's really silly that they mapped the grid toggle to the left trigger and also mapped raising/lowering to the triggers as well.  Just a shot in the dark hoping you can fix this somehow!

    @simsplayer818   I went ahead and bought the Luxe Modern kit for my PS4 and can confirm that the pillow will raise for me.  I noticed that if I press the triggers together, it almost always changes the free placement.  If I press the right trigger (which toggles the lined grid) first, then press the left trigger, the free placement does not change.

    If it's still not working, I wondered if you could try something similar to the curtain rod  / window workaround.  Maybe place the chair or whatever, then place the pillow.  Move the furniture piece out of the way and raise the pillow (I think 4 clicks up is ideal) and rotate it as you wish.  Then use free placement to move the furniture piece under / into place where the pillow is.  Again, I know this isn't ideal because you still have to sort of eyeball the placement and positioning but maybe something to try until it's fixed?

    @JonaO703 I hope you like the kit as much as I do it's one of my favourites, despite this technical problem that is currently consuming my every waking moment!

    I never thought of trying it that way, I'll test that next. It just has the impression of not being solid in comparison with other objects unless on a floor, platform or dresser/table. It went on the coffee table no problem but wouldn't go on the sofa. I have had a really bad clipping problem with Sims and objects since adding Horse Ranch and started wondering if that was linked.

    @EA_Solaire this has happened on 2 lots so far as I'm building for 2 households in the same family. I'm currently renovating Laurel Library as a residential lot and it first began on 2-4-2 Wakabamori which I've also changed to residential. When they are complete, I'll add them both to the gallery.

    I'll try it on a couple of other lots today too.

    @mumofharry thanks, it is a really baffling problem. But I am enjoying using MOO for the first time on everything else.

    Edit: moving the sofa then moving the cushion up, replacing the sofa then using free placement works. It also does seem to be the grid as well so I had to keep toggling full/half grid snapping/free placement to stop it snapping to the floor. On one attempt I should mention that clicking just made the pillow spin around instead of up or down, so I exited and powered down then restarted and re-entered the cheat code.

    Now I've got the hang of how best to place them I'm be-cushioning away to my heart's content, much like in my own house! They do still clip if they touch anything or are placed too close together when placed this way but I can work with that. Also, if I touch a pillow after it's placed it flies off on it's own and snaps to a new spot across the room but I can pull it back with free placement.

    Phew, this one drove me up the wall! Thanks so much for all the generous help 😄, now I can get the best out of this lovely new kit.

    @simsplayer818

    Thanks for updating on this, so glad to hear you were able to get them properly placed, your sofa looks absolutely lovely with the new cushions! It can be a little tricky getting the hang of MOO, sometimes object placement gets a little finicky.

    If you need help with anything else, be sure to let us know 🙂

    @EA_Solaire thank you! I've tested on both lots and it's working by placing the pillows then the sofa and then adjusting them. I'm a big fan of MOO now.

    @simsplayer818   That's awesome!  The bedroom you shared looks great and the blue couch is lovely as well.  Everything looks so cozy and inviting.  Excellent work!  I'm really glad you were able to figure this out.  It seems maybe the outcome actually was worth the effort.  :-)

    @JonaO703 and @mumofharry  thanks so much. I'm really happy with it. I think it's safe to say it's an essential tool to get the most out of the new kit 😀.

    I added a quick update on the player review of the kit on General Discussions incase anyone else has the same bother.
