Have the controls changed!?

I have Sims 4 on PS4 and haven't played since about November. I live in build mode so I'm really familiar with the controls but the last couple of days I've had to quit because the controls are so frustrating. As an example the button that would normally back me into the menu of items I'm choosing from doesn't work at all and I have to move the cursor down to the menu. I also can't scroll without grabbing the sidebar with the cursor and moving it manually. The weirdest one is the mini menu that shows all the colours of the items doesn't pop up when I click on an item, instead I have to click on the tiny line of colours at the side of the item picture. There are more similar issues on top of these but please tell me this is a bug and not a permanent change!
