Re: The Sims Life Stories

@Elizabethrayne , was looking for solutions to your problem. Was your Origin account "online" when you started the game and were you connected to your internet? This is how Origin verifies games. Make sure you are online in your Origin account and connected to the internet when you start up the game.

This is one possible solution. If you continue to have this same error, please let me know and I'll research more.

    Hi, @Elizabethrayne!

Sorry to hear about the trouble you're having with The Sims. When you load up your Origin account you can see the game in your Games Library right? Try right-clicking on the game and select Repair to let me know if that helps.

Any way you can let us know what your system specs are by attaching a DxDiag in case we can find something there that could be triggering the error?

Lastly, have you tried resetting the password on your account or reinstalled Origin by re-downloading the latest version from Origin.com?

    How to gather DxDiag information

    Hi Good Afternoon,

I do not have a repair option when I right click the game. The only options that appear are "Play" "Show Game Details" "Remove from Favorites" "Game Properties" "Hide" and "Uninstall"

I did uninstall the game and reinstalled it, still getting the same error message. Edited to add: there is a repair option for the sims 4, but not for the sims life stories and this is the game I am having issues running.

I have reinstalled Origins and do have as far as I can tell the most up to date version of the installer.

I'm not sure why resetting my password would have any bearing on the game not running or the error code I'm receiving but I did that as well.

I am more often then not at this point receiving the EC: 5510 code and no longer receiving the please login error.

  • @EA_Blueberry Now back to getting the "please login to verify" etc. error message.

I still have the original purchase email with all the digital rights information if needed.

Hello origin has a right click drop down screen. Troubleshoot compatibility click on that and then try either one. I really hope soon that EA will be back for phone calls. Looks like you have done  a lot already. Good Luck!

  • Hi Yes I tried to run as administrator as well as compatibility mode I tried running as Vista and XP and even 98. None of them have worked and now that I have tried unnstalling and reinstalling I'm now getting the popup telling me to log into origins.

So unsure if this is helpful but when you right click the game in the origins launcher and open the settings and go to game properties, clicking the box for Enable Origin In Game for The Sims™ Life Stories so that the box is checked I get the EC: 5510 error, when I un check that box I get the please log into origins error.

With these older titles, launching the game under another OS via compatibility mode does tend to help, sorry that didn't do the trick.

I see that your video card driver is outdated though and it's important to keep those updated to avoid errors when launching games. Can you double-check to see if you have any pending Windows updates and then also update the driver for your Nvidia card here: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx

Once the latest drivers and updates are installed for your PC, please restart it and launch Origin as administrator when you right-click on the desktop shortcut.

  • I super wish my update to this was that it worked, I made sure my Windows was up to date, and I downloaded the newest drivers for my graphics card.

Still receiving the same errors even when trying compatibility mode.

I even downloaded the game on my fiance's PC and ran into the same error when trying to play it.

*face desk* can I have my $10 back?

The main error I'm getting now is please login to verify (I am logged in) last night after fiddling I got a pop up asking me to insert a disk (never had one it was always a digital download)

Also in my library, when you click on the game the orange button that should read 'play' is stuck on 'finalizing'
