Re: My game still crashes after trying all the fixes...

Yup the fans are all good! This was the only issue I could find in the Intel Processor diagnostic test:

--- Reading CPU Frequency ---

Expected CPU Frequency is --> 3.07

Detected CPU Frequency is --> 4.22553

CPU Frequency Test Passed with Warning!!!

The processor frequency could be affected by power management features. In order
to ensure the processor frequency is not affected by a power management setting,
enter BIOS, load defaults, and disable any 'Over-Clocking' or power
management features that may affect processor frequency. Also, set any
software applications which control power management features to default.

*Note for others with this issue:
I used the Intel Processor Diagonstic Tool which is free. My system is 64bit and my Motherboard is a Gigabite GA-X58A-UD3R with Intel (R) i7 Core, for those who are curious 🙂

  • Hi Crin,

I went into Bios and disabled intel turbo boost and set performance enhance to standard and this was the result:

    --- Reading CPU Frequency ---

Expected CPU Frequency is --> 3.07

Detected CPU Frequency is --> 3.06675

    CPU Frequency Test Passed!!!

The temp has dropped too. I also changed the graphics card fan's speed to 70% and it's temp has dropped to 51c.

I Have tested the game. I got to play it for a few hours! Yay!

So, the above worked to lower the temp and I can play my game in the mornings and evening. I live in Queensland, Australia; so humid, tropical and hot. We have skipped spring entirely and headed straight into summer with 30+ degree temps. Why am I telling you this? Because the environment is my computers enemy in Spring,Summer & Autumn.  I tried to test the game in the middle of the day and it crashed. I waited until it was night and cooled down and the game worked. I have been running Core Temp the entire time to track the temps. As I can't afford to buy a new air conditioning unit I am going to buy a water cooling unit for my computer and move my tower to see if that helps. I'm going to mark this as solved.

Thank you, thank you! thank you! For all your help. I never even thought about temp at all.
