Re: Sim bathing in random clothes Maxis only, no CC.

Did you have CC before? The damage may have been done then if you did.

But if you're okay with Mods, MCCC and its Dresser module (that mod on MTS you mentioned is probably way too old) can help you fix affected Sims.

Also, Sims4Studio's "Disallow CC for Shower" batch fix can help fix your CC so it doesn't happen again.

Google them both, and if you need help, let me know. đŸ™‚

I have been looking through MCCC Dresser and I can't seem to find the right settings. Watched a few YouTube videos and Dresser seems to have changed a bit.
  • also just noticed that trying to get my sims to change to nude they are also wearing clothes.  so is there a way to reset the nude state?

@Irobag Moving this to tech for further troubleshooting

MCCC is the only way I know to reset the stage. I don't have dresser installed but it might be a general setting.

Hopefully someone here knows straight away were to find it, otherwise, please refer to MCCC documentation.
  • I think you might also need MCCC Cleaner (sorry!)? I'll have to re-read the documentation to be sure.

So what is the best way to get started?  I guess take all CC out, clean my cache out/delete Sims 4 folder from Docs, start a new game and reintroduce CC slowly?  I think the problem could have started with a sim I got from the gallery.

As I understand it, once the problem appears it corrupts everything.  So the idea is to make sure everything is clean from the first time one of my sims has to get nude?

  • What you're saying is mostly way too extreme. Try removing CC and deleting the localthumbcache.package (or something like that) from your Sims 4 folder in Documents, for starters.

Did you register at Sims4Studio and download the program yet?

Yeah, I have it. I haven't done too much with making them showerproof. I am familiar with it enough to make sure I don't see sims walking around on Sixam with dresses and high heels

The only mods I have in atm are the MCCC ones. So, right now everything is fine. But I also haven't put any custom outfits back yet. Kind of afraid to put things back right now.

From what I have read, the problem introduces itself when a CC item marked as nude in Sims4 Studio.

It does sound like there is a way to fix things though if it breaks. I did end up going the extreme route though just because in addition to the shower issue I was hanging on load screens.
  • Hmm, dang.

Hopefully you won't have it happen again though, at least.

So, I have started putting it back in little by little.  So far, so good.  Don't think I am going to go all out this time.  Maybe just a favorite outfit or two in each category.  Also, I think I am going to start backing up my entire Sims 4 folder before I make a change.  Also I have made sure that I look at everything in Sims 4 Studio before launching it in game, in the hopes that keeping it out of a game til I have it fixed will prevent corruptions from occurring.

It does appear that there is a way to blacklist in MCCC Dresser, just need to read up and try and understand how that works.

  • Maybe back up at least the saves, Tray, and Mods Folders? (So to save space.)

Sounds like a good plan otherwise, though!

As for blacklisting, IIRC, you click on your Sim while he/she is bathing/showering, and blacklist whatever he/she is wearing in the bathing category via the MC Command context menu option. I patched my game earlier today, so tomorrow I'll pretend to blacklist a bathing outfit so I can explain better.

Thanks! that would be a big help.  If I could at least figure out the process then I should be able to take care of the problem if I ever do see it again.  It would be so much easier if they would just have a "nude" category and let us create our own outfit for it, LOL.

  • So frustrated right now. My game was fine. Nothing glitching. Sims could shower/go nude. The minute I created a vampire the clothes started reappearing in the shower.

I went back to my other sim, an alien, and everything is working as intended. I checked the Maxis vampires in Forgotten Hollow and they shower with their clothes as well.

EDIT: OK, not sure how to fix it.  But I think I found out which mod is causing the problem, it's the nude body mod I am using.  Whenever it's in, it causes problems.  I tried the batch fix, still doesn't work right.  Very close to pulling hair, lol.

  • Try removing your nude mod and deleting localthumbcache.package?

EDIT: To blacklist shower clothing, click on your Sim while he/she is bathing/showering, then "MC Commander Center" > MC Dresser > Blacklist Items... > then the incorrect categories. I'll have to look again to see if MC Cleaner is needed, too.

So, I think I am in good shape for the time being anyway.  Hope so, anyhow.  It's frustrating to spend all your Sims time trying to get the game to work right.  Started using a script mod off of MTS called Outfit Tools.  It lets you copy outfits as well as make a backup of clothes and restore them from an un-corrupted state.  So I have my backup as well as a couple of saves where everything is working as intended.  Thanks StarryMight, for all your help.  🙂

I think my nude mod has been properly fixed by Sims4Studio.  What info is stored in the localtumbcache.package?  If I wanted to reset my Sims Game, what files would I delete without erasing any Sims I made or had downloaded from the gallery?

    Thanks again for the help.

  • Whenever you add, remove, or change mods, deleting the localthumbcache.package is good practice to prevent any lingering problems in your game from outdated info.

As for refreshing your folder without losing your stuff...Google "The Sims 4: Game Folder Refresh" and click on the YouTube video by Onyxangel in the results. I haven't watched it myself, but it's often posted in the MCCC Discord to tell people how to do it.

Also, back up your saves, Tray, Mods, and (if you wish) Screenshots folder to another drive, too.

    Finally, you're welcome! đŸ˜ƒ

So, the problem came  back.  However, an earlier save and I was able to get things fixed.  If I went and fixed everything through S4S and the clothing packages are "clean"  or "fixed" how is it that the error could creep back?  Is it kind of a random thing?  How is it that bathing/nude outfits are created, and are they regenerated from time to time?

  • In Sims4Studio, are certain CC things you fixed either are flagged as not fixed or they keep getting fixed even though they're supposed to be fixed? Get rid of those, they're broken beyond repair, I'm afraid. â˜šī¸

Also, was your nude mod a Default replacement for the original nude skin? Batch fixing those is a bad idea.

Yeah, I am afraid it was.  I am gathering from your question, it is better to just go with the defaults or use a nude skin that I am absolutely sure is perfect.  As far as your first question, according to Sims4Studio everything has been fixed.  And when I try to run it again, it still comes back as fixed.  I don't really have all that many.  In addition to my script mods and the replacement skins, I only have 8 total clothing packages.

  • It's up to you on the nude skin. Either or, I suppose. đŸ™‚

However, here's part of what EG The Watcher on MCCC Discord told someone just earlier today...

"...in any case, recovering files from the Batch folders OR redownloading the affected cc can fix any problems. we usually recommend a DO NOT BATCH folder for default replacement cc.

(just gotta remember to take it out...)"

    Oh! Another thing...

"And when I try to run it again, it still comes back as fixed."

Do you mean it says nothing needs fixed, or does it keep fixing it even though it's supposed to be fixed?

It says that nothing needs to be fixed. As far as a nude skin, I can do research to see which ones the most people seem happy with. And if a scan comes back and says it doesn't need fixed, I guess that is a good sign.
