Re: Lenovo Ideapad 3

@I1Love2Cookie  This would be a perfectly reasonable option in theory, especially for a child.  While it would probably only handle low-medium settings, it's about as good a system as you'll see in this price range.  But I wouldn't buy this specific laptop because of the seller, which has only a 75% positive feedback rate.  Further, the specs in the name and description don't match, which doesn't inspire confidence.

You could get the same model, except with a brighter, prettier screen (if you believe the Amazon page), for almost the same price from Best Buy:

This is a viable alternative too, cheaper even when new and with equivalent hardware as the Ideapad I've linked, other than a dimmer screen:

I'd go with either of these over the Amazon option if only because you'll know what you're going to get.  If you'd prefer to buy from Amazon, I can look there too, but the plethora of unreliable third-party sellers makes it difficult to find good options.

  • Thank you so much for the feedback and suggestions! I will absolutely look at them! I know very little about computers and even less about Sims, so I truly appreciate it!

  • I also just found this and was wondering if Sims would run on this?

@I1Love2Cookie  Sims 4 would run, sure, but not very well.  Celeron processors are significantly weaker than current Intel Core or AMD Ryzen models, and more to the point, their graphics chips are much slower too.  So if possible, I'd go with one of the models we talked about earlier.
