Thanks for getting back to me 😊
here’s the link
@cookie23n This laptop would run Sims 4 okay, but probably only on low settings, or low-medium at best, if you were using most or all expansion packs. You can do somewhat better for your budget though, specifically these two:
They have the same processor and, more importantly, the same graphics chip, one that's much faster than the graphics chip in the laptop you linked. The difference is smaller in Sims 4 than in other games but is somewhere around 20%, depending on your graphics settings. The higher the settings, the bigger the difference, although medium settings is probably the best option here if you're going to run most or all expansions.
Between the two, the only meaningful differences are screen size and the extra storage in the second. I would go with the second if all else were equal, but that's about having a bigger screen and extra storage, not performance. Having the extra storage is convenient but won't affect how well the laptop runs the game.
If you're comfortable paying a little more, this one has a graphics chip that's somewhat faster than the chip in the above laptops, the difference between medium and medium-high settings, at least with most packs installed. It's also a little newer.
If you have more questions, please feel free to ask.
Thank you so much for the information!
Im currently on a budget, and I may stick to the one that I added initially. I wanted to ask would you advise if I should purchase an external hard drive? Does that have anything to do with better performance for the game.. or is that more to do with downloading mods etc.
thanks again!
Sorry one last question, I’m looking to buy a secondhand laptop on Facebook marketplace. Please see below links and advise which one is best?

@cookie23n The first two laptops I linked are the same price as the one you originally linked, which is why I listed them. I understand being on a budget, but for the original £250 at least, you can do better than the first one you found.
The second laptop on Facebook Marketplace is a little worse than the first one you linked, and the first is somewhat worse than that, at least from a Sims 4 perspective. I wouldn't recommend either, but if you can negotiate down the price of the second to the £125 range (and that might be possible if you say something like "I have cash and am in your area and can be there in X minutes"), maybe it's worth the low cost to get a machine that should run the Sims 4 base game and a few packs without any major issues. Just understand what you're getting, which is an older laptop that could die at any time and will never perform like even a new low-end machine.
No probs, thanks.&
I’m going to purchase the one you mentioned on your last thread. You mentioned that it has a faster graphics card etc.
let me know if this is my best one to get
@cookie23n That is the best laptop I saw for under £300 on any of the sites I checked, and it's normally more like £350-400 new. So yes, I think it's your best option here. But if you saw another laptop with the same processor (i5-1135G7) for cheaper on Facebook Marketplace, that would also be a valid option, aside from the relative lack of buyer protection. The important details are the processor and that the laptop has at least 8 GB RAM and at least 256 GB storage.
