My Sims 4 app will not work

Hello, i’ve reached out to EA multiple times now but have received nothing back. Every time I launch my Sims 4 game via EA it opens, loads and then kicks me out and takes me back to EA. I have had this problem for about a month now. I’ve tried everything I have taken all of my mods out and it still isn’t working. If anyone knows what to do please help me I’ve spent lots of money of this game and would really like to be able to play again.

  • shiningjs4u  If you haven't already, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.

If that doesn't or didn't help, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

Hello, i did this and the game did work however how do i get my save files and mods back into my game??

  • shiningjs4u  That's great that it worked—it means the issue is something in your old user folder.  Move over the saves folder first, and if you get the same issue, remove that folder and try one save at a time.  (Launching the game should create a new, empty saves folder.)  It's possible you have this issue:

If you find that one or more of your saves are broken, try the suggestions in that thread.

If your saves are fine, test the contents of the Mods folder next; I know you said you removed your mods already, but one or more of them could be broken still while you also have another issue.  The 50/50 method can help make the process more efficient if you have a lot of mods and custom content.

Once you've sorted through your mods, you can move over the contents of Tray, plus Screenshots and Recorded Videos if you care about those.  The rest can be discarded.
