What do I do

During April sims 4 would crash on start and still does. I have tried everything that EA help has suggested and nothing has worked. I've checked mods, deleted ea and sims 4 multiple times, checked and updated drivers, cleared cache, done other things and nothing has worked. Am I missing something. Do I need to switch to inZoi?

  • I found what the problem was for mine. Check the Sims 4 in documents to see if you have anything in there that might be causing the glitch. Mine was the better exceptions thing that finds mods that aren't working. After deleting it, Sims 4 loaded. If that's not you're problem, then delete anything that you placed in there before the crashes started. For example, if the crashes started on the 4/20/2025, then delete everything before that unless it was placed there by EA (meaning it comes with the Sims 4). Hope this helps.

I don't get an error code. It launches to the plumbob loading screen, then the plumbob stops and exits back to the ea app. Haven't play for almost a month now

  • EA_AgentX Are there still no solutions? I think it was one of the April updates that came out which caused this because I found nothing wrong on my end.

  • Sims 4 crashes on launch and takes me back to the EA app. I deleted it and redownloaded it multiple times and it didn't work. Asked EA help and none of their suggestions and articles worked. After deleting the EA app and TS4 my TS4 file looks weird. I think it's because of the update.

  • Re-downloaded sims 4 for the millionth time after it would not open in April. None of the EA helps suggestions of checking mods or clearing cache or updating drivers worked. I just realized that after having re-downloaded it the first time that the files looked weird. Where are all the other files?

Shouldn't you be looking at the documents folder instead? This folder contains files we don't mess with. As far as I know, any mods, tray files cache files, saves, etc should be in the Electronic Arts folder that is in the Documents folder.

😭 had been so upset about sims 4 crashing that I totally forgot about the documents folder. 😭😭😭😭

I'm also posting what fixed it for me here because it took like 3 days of scouring the internet until I figured it out: I fixed it by going to Settings > System > Display > Graphics > The Sims 4 and changing High Performance (NVIDIA) to Power Saving (Intel). Mine is in windowed mode btw.

  • hvto6f548ngu  I merged a few threads of yours to keep everything about your original issue in one place.  Since it sounds like the issue was mod-related, I'll move your posts to the Mods forum.

The screenshot you've posted is of the game's program files, not the user folder, and everything there looks normal.  The user folder is in Documents > Electronic Arts, not Program Files.
