Re: Disconnect if two computers in the same home try to play together.

OK so I found a fix from an old Titanfall 2 issue thread that spoke about NAT types and Nighthawk Routers that appear to be the main router with this issue..  This just worked and my son and I played successfully in 3 matches already.

FROM OLD FORUM:

I solved this issue by going into the nighthawk settings

Advanced > Setup > WAN Setup
Change `Nat Filtering` from `secured` to `open`.

Additionally you can reserve the IP's for the devices on the network that will be playing multiplayer to keep them from changing. This is especially useful if you're on a wireless connection.

Advanced > Setup > LAN Setup
Click the `add` button under the `Address Reservation` section and select the device you want to reserve the local IP for.

Hope that helps some people!!

Cheers!!

Thank you!! This worked for me.

  • Also had this issue last night. Unable to connect with a player on a console in the same house.

  • It would be great if I could use this method, but I connect to the internet in my dorms and have no ability to adjust my router settings since it is property of the school.

If anyone finds any better solutions please let me know.

I had just downloaded the game on February 8th. I am having the same issue when me and my roommate try to connect using the same wifi, where it will time out the party leader. if we play not in a party then we can still play, but you know, this is suppose to be a game where you team up with friends and play with them and that does not seem to work.

problem with this is it makes your router way more open to attacks from the internet as a added firewall is shut down by turning this setting off would not recommend

  • This is still an issue. And quite frankly, I find it insulting that Respawn doesn’t even try to do anything and claim it’s not their problem.

Same problem here for me when I try to play a match with my son.
