Re: Way too much thirsting

I'm not really good in english but can you explain what "thirsting" is?

  • @Redo_erKo This isn't so much a English language issue as a Battle Royal or PvP language issue 🙂

I had no idea what it meant in game context either a few days ago.

As I understand it refers to people going for kills at any and all cost, including losing the game.

And I'm not sure a change to the game is warranted, this isn't an issue with game balance, it is an issue with the way people decide to play the game.

Including starting firefights for no reason, just for the kills.

I enjoy killing, but I go after surviving as long as possible. Always been my play-style. Plus, this game rewards surviving more than killing.

The BR strategy that nets the most XP seems to be to just avoid people for aslong as possible. Most random groups I get into don't seem to understand that.

its battle royale thirsting is part of the culture and will always be here honestly , there is not one battle royale without it and it shouldnt be eliminated . Just don't get down and if you do then hey you die you die , part of the game. I typically only thirst if i need ammo but if there is a team around me im going to fight them so i can get more kills. i dont really worry about down players being that they cant do nothing to me
  • Going out of your way to thirst at the risk of losing the battle, nah, but if I down someone and get a clean shot to finish them, I'm taking it. Make them have to respawn. Another scenario is where you down someone and they follow you around calling you out to their team. I'll thirst them all day.

You know, a lot of people * on finishing off downed people but if your teamates aren't getting gang banged and you can finish him, do it. Its a great strategy. Kill 1 or 2 of them and force them to go to a revive drop ship station. You know where they will be going so you can intercept and finish them off.

  • Thirsting in itself isn't the issue. If you need to kill someone so they dont ping you to their team that's understandable. Sure it's annoying when someone does it  but I get it. What pisses me off though is when another squad from 7 miles away decides to snipe me with his Kraber and finish me off. Now that pisses me off. If you or any of your squad mates have NOTHING to do with that downed person. Dont go out of your way to "thirst" them. You dont get * all for killing someone that another squad downed, so stop doing it people. Another thing that I will admit is annoying is when I get downed. And my attacker is getting pummelled by bullets from my squad. He's on his last bit of health, pulls his shotgun and blows my face off only to die a millisecond after doing so. Now that their is what I call being thirsty and desperate for that "one kill".

  • I always thirst. I will go out of my way. I’ve died before going for the thirst. Because I know a lot of people rage when they get thirsted. It makes me smile knowing that there is a high probability the guy I just thirsted is raging. I hope he breaks his controller. Or punches his screen. Just the thought... ahhh brings a smile to my face. Lol

I never use to kill downed players, I'd knock them then continue on to help my squad. Until the downed person used a revive shield and got a chance to heal then kill me because I was wounded from fighting his friends. Now if I'm able to I will kill every downed person I see.

  • Agreed about them calling you out but a good way to fix that is to blur their vision

My damage count VS kills certainly shows that I don't thirst much.

Happens often where I'll lose in 2 VS 1 scenario because my team mate would rather try and get the kill instead of doubling up on the remaining enemy.

    It is what it is.

If you got thirsted you where not close enough to your teammates who are supposed to protect you.

Since when is thirsting a person a complaint?

If im short on bullets / heals or i saw he had a good armor.

I want that! and im thirsting and i deserve that loot.

    His teammate not showing up.

Im thirsting because he can still block doors and ping my location and hes making noice so i can't hear enemy footsteps.

And if you died in a spot allowing me to thirst you.

you don't deserve your loot anymore! its mine now!

If you got thirsted you messed up somehow and should not cry about it.

And be glad you can still get ressed.

A nice, cold iced-tea quenches my thirst just fine on a hot Summer day...

  • i main gibraltar and face a lot of skinny people, so i will probably die if i fight, so i see a downed opponent i know i will probably die they will probably be revived and hurt my team mates, so i go out of my way to gut them.

i always do this its like im the clubber for caught stuff. i never initial fights i always back up my team mates when they fight, its better results for me.

See I agree for the most part, EXCEPT for one thirst problem I've run into a lot more now. Which is somebody will thirst you even if it means them dying. The amount of times I've had somebody try to finish me while my teammates are shooting them instead of backing off and trying to heal or help their own team is crazy. That's the only thing that annoys me, so thirsty for the kill even if they die trying to get it.

The sooner i kill someone thats down, the sooner their respawn becon starts to countdown, giving their teammates less time to try and revive via a drop ship... then i dont have to kill you again later...deal with it
