GPU Memory Leak?
I've been having this issue with Apex and only Apex. I play other games just fine and do not experience this problem. When I start up the game every thing is all good and dandy, until I "click to continue" and get to the main menu and the rest of the game. Once I load into the main menu, not even a match. My GPUs memory starts rapidly climbing until it hits a point where it just crashes back down. It repeats this over and over and never stops causing the game to feel laggy and stuttery when it starts to climb up there in the memory usage. I am not sure how to even fix this since it seems to be only effecting this game entirely. I've updated my drivers, clean installed my drivers, reinstalled the game and ran repairs on the game as well. Nothing fixes this. I also would like to note that my GPUs are not overclocked either.
Here is a photo of my GPU Memory Afterburner graph
I can also provide a video showing my MSI Afterburner in-game going up and down constantly. I showcase a bit more into what my entire system is doing while the game is running.
- Specs if needed -
OS: Windows 10 Pro (64-bit)
CPU: Intel Core i9-7900X Extreme Edition
Motherboard: Asus Rampage VI APEX
Ram: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB
GPUs: Gigabyte AORUS GTX 1080 Ti Xtreme Edition
(Game and OS is installed on an M2 SSD)
I tried disabling SLI to test if that was the issue and it didn't change anything. So I removed the second card entirely and the game functions normaly without the memory spikes. So I am going with the assumption that Nvidia/Apex did something in their latest updates that broke the game for SLI users (EVEN IF THE GAME IS ONLY ENABLED FOR SINGLE GPU USE) and the only way to fix it is to remove your other card completely just to play this game.
