Re: Detecting wrong aspect ratio

Nvidia Surround within Apex Legends is broken.

And I have no doubt this issue will be affecting users with superultrawide (32:9) setups as well:

The game renders overall HUD elements and game menus largely correctly for a triple screen setup (5760 x 1080 in my case).

You can see the main menu loads correctly, and the actionable items are confined to the centre screen:Menu screen for multimonitor apex.

However let us look within a menu screen such as the settings. We will take this chance to also explore one of the issues.

Video Settings

The actionable items are no longer confined to the centre screen. The escape icon and the restore defaults buttons are now positioned on the left monitor all the way to the furthest corner of the screen. This is inconvenient at most.

Aspect Ratio is incorrectly detected.

However, of further importance is that the aspect ratio is detected incorrectly. Instead of being detected as a 48:9 ratio it is forced into 21:9. This is no doubt affecting parts of the gameplay.

"Champions of the arena" screen fails to properly render

Major screens are broken and incorrectly fill up all three screens instead of simply utilizing the centre space.

Game looks normal

While initially the looks normal once you are placed within, and HUD elements are properly placed on the centre screen. You notice issues when you look at elements within the game.

Streched elements

Hud popups for items and pings are stretched, and extremely irritating to read.

Weapon Image Stretched

Below the weapon description, you can see that the weapon image portion is distorted.

I truly appreciate playing apex in a surround format, and the game is much more immersive to play in this fashion. I look forward to seeing these issues resolved, so please reach out if you know of a fix for these small problems, or have any further questions.
