Re: Apex Legends FPS Instability Problem

Hey all.

I have seen people fix this issue by deleting EAC in the Apex Legends folders.
Open your File explorer and locate to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Apex
And delete following files:

  • EasyAntiCheat
  • EasyAntiCheat_launcher.exe
  • EasyAntiCheat_x64.dll

Then locate to:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Apex\__Installer\customcomponent

And delete following files:

  • EasyAntiCheat

Then restart Origin, go to Game Library, click on Apex Legends.
Then go to settings -> Game Properties and repair the game.

Let me know if this maybe solved the issue.

@peecybee @temwed Can you try popping into your Windows Update, and ensure that it is in fact fully updated. If an update is needed, can you install it, then try the steps listed above again, and take another look.

We are looking into the recent reported FPS issue, and updating Windows and wiping EAC has helped some people, but unfortunately not everyone.

  • @EA_David Did both David, im on 1903 and looked for updates every day. I also did the EAC delete ( it was the first thing I did)

    Nothing seem to work
  • @EA_David Thanks for providing an update. I've tried the steps listed here and elsewhere but nothing has worked so far. Any plans on extending the Battle Pass a little? I'm like 8 levels from completion but haven't been able to do much in the last week due to these FPS issues.

@EA_David I tried everything, formatted my computer with a new windows, a new license purchased from microsoft, upgraded to 1903, did all the updates, restarted, did more updates until I could find no more.

still does not work. very strange. I think the problem is not exactly on my side.

Its not your fault, because before fps drop i just restarted my game, problem is in easy anti-cheat code, they added, changed something, try running game w/o eac and everything will be normal, i just stopped playing apex legends, because we cant play since one week and they dont deserve my attention now, like other people im not going to waste my time and search solution for them, because its multi-million company, not a single person and they can contact eac devs for a solution.

@ERROR_WRONG_ID you're right. in another topic CM said the team is investigating. We'll see what's going to happen, but honestly, that really discouraged me.
  • @m0NEYof Did you guys find any solution to fix this?
I have around 300 fps in lobby and training mode, but in normal game i have fps drops too (a lot of times it goes under 90).
Btw in traning mode the GPU Usage is always around 90+ % while in normal game barely go over 60%
  • @RoolaxZ OK. It may seem strange, but I just solved by reversing the positions of my RAM memories.

Trust me, it's worth a try. Simply swap one memory for another if you have two 8gb sticks.
