Re: Does Lore Really Matter in FPS Games?

@Lord_Scorpion34 It took 2 decades for @Koochi-Q to finally educate me on the fact there was a codex with lore in DOOM. So no, lore isn't important. 😛

@apostolateofDOOM To be fair I don't think the OG doom games had lore either....or at least I don't remember any (I was pretty damn young when I played them though).
Would be perfectly natural to assume the newer doom titles didn't either. 😛
Back to the OP though, I think the fact that Apex has lore is more important than your average shooter, simply because the legends have wayyy more character. This sparks intrigue in players and they like to know their favourite legends origins etc.
It's not exactly a requirement for the game to work, but it does create better immersion for sure.
