Apex Legends anti cheat error. is reWASD the cause?

I recently downloaded Apex Legends again after not playing for a while. During a match, I got the error message: "The client failed an anti-cheat backend check."

I have reWASD installed on my PC, which I use to edit controller inputs. I have had issues with other games in the past because of it, but I thought those were resolved, so I installed it again.

I do not have reWASD open when launching Apex, so I thought it would not matter. I am starting to wonder if it is still causing problems because of its drivers. I do not want to uninstall reWASD because it is very useful for me.

Here is what I have already tried:

Disabled the vJoy driver
Whitelisted the game folder in antivirus

Has anyone run into this before? Is reWASD definitely the reason for this, or could it be something else? Is there a way to temporarily disable it fully without uninstalling just for Apex Legends?

illdaddy I don't know much about how reWASD works, but I do know that the game won't run with reWASD running on the system.

Yep, at least from what i've read reWASD is a huge problem for EAC and it should be removed completely with all leftover files. All forums dedicated to this problem have messages as "Thank you,as soon i deleted reWASD this problem's gone"

I still have the problem even that I don't have reWASD any fix?

yousef14753 It can be caused by another program.

You would need to check what programs your system is running and remove any that might be conflicting with the game.

Midnight9746 i tried to uninstall any programs used for key mapping and disabled lighting service from task manager and nothing happend sadly i don't know what to do
And by the way i was playing another game with the same anticheat and it didn't have any problems

yousef14753 Yeah, I'm not sure what programs could be causing the issue either as Respawn seems to be adding a bunch without telling anyone which ones are now blocked.

From what I understand, the Anti-Cheat is configured differently for each game, (which is why the Anti-Cheat has to "reinstall itself" for each game that runs it).

yousef14753 Do you use programs like Daemon Tools?

I've seen players mentioned that being an issue for them.

Midnight9746 After trying this fix now, it gives the badware integrity error even that i uninstalled Daemon from device manager and from revo uninstaller and all related files

yousef14753 Did you make sure you had removed every instance of Daemon Tools, (even from the device manager)?
