Thank you for responding. With all do respect can you explain why someone who swore at me a whole match and said things you're forum wouldn't even allow me to post over half a dozen times can get me banned for saying something back to him and not banned themselves? Surely there something wrong with a system that rewards aggressor without being penalized themselves. I'll say it again if someone is being rude to me and I don't want to play with them I shouldn't be penalized for 9 minutes and lose points. I wanted to leave. I would have said nothing but I was forced to play with this person. Trolls know this and it's become a tactic for them. I love this game but I don't think it's fair to take points and prevent me from playing for 9 minutes if I don't want to play with someone who keeps being mean to me. Maybe give us the option to click why we left the match. Cause it sucks to have to take break from the game and lose points when all I wanted was a break from that person. - @EA_David So you are banning people that defend themself from getting harrassed? just to be clear here while the others do not get punished? Sounds honestly unreal, if someone looks into the case and presses the button then this person would see the behaiviour of the other people.
Have seen to many bans false bans to believe that sorry - @RevMainPls yeah agree messing with someone till they respond and then reporting them has defiantly become a tactic used by trolls and ranked has become their favorite hang out to do so.
- @RevMainPls I mean, a ToS violation is a ToS violation is a ToS violation. "But they did it first!" is just an excuse for poor behavior choice. Just report people like that, and move on. It's as simple as that. If they get reported, especially if it's via text communication, they will be the ones to get a ban/suspension, and not you.
That being said, I find it a bit ridiculous for anyone to be banned from an online multiplayer game (unless it's strictly billed as a kids game) for swearing. Hate speech is a whole different story, but that doesn't seem to apply here, based on the description in the OP.
Had a teammate in Arena the other day. After the match was over, I got a message from them saying something along the lines of "You're so bad you're gonna get me a comms ban". I simply replied with "Word". I couldn't possibly care less, what random players on a video game think of me or say to me. I don't know them. They don't sign my paychecks or provide for me. I've been gaming since the 90's, and have pretty much heard it all, Lmfao
TL:DR Yes it's annoying, but just report and move on. "They started it" is a child's excuse for bad behavior. - E9ine_AC4 years agoHero+
@RevMainPlsThe reports can only be seen if they are reported. Ignoring people and reporting people would land them the ban and not the one who finally lashed out. They check im assuming mind you the person at hand that was reported. If the other user does not report them then their side of things may not be seen.
- @dSKyNafinchin hardly I didn't insult them at all. I just swore once. Whatever they can do what they want but hardly seems fair if they are insulting me directly for 20 straight minutes. No I shouldn't have swore but if that's the rules cool. They are still only working for the person messing with people. I thought reporting was for actually violation like the ones they committed. I didn't insult anyone. If I could report and move on I would have the option to quit without penalty. Reporting means I still wait while they mess with me. That's not fun at all,I got like 20 mins to myself here and there if I'm lucky. Now I'm stuck in a 20 minute match watching the screen as I'm insulted or lose points and wait 9 minutes for saving my mental health.
- @happyknifeguy It sucks but you kind of have to walk on eggshells with this game it seems. If possible just screenshot/record any serious behavior and use that as evidence when you report, and I would use the EA website report feature even if they are on the same platform as you because it seems to be better as far as response and investigation.
- @MyName1sNotJohn yeah I think I'm done playing ranked with randoms until they give us a better option. I can't take getting screwed with so someone can report me for swearing. LoL the guy told me to f my mother like 50 times and but I sorry I said swear word once in chat. Guess I'll sit in the corner for 3 days for getting frustrated.
- @E9ine_AC realizing this the hard way. Like I said I think I'm done playing ranked unless I'm using pre-make teams cause I can't stand being trapped with people who are horrible for sake of being horrible. I honestly think this person was messing with people to see if they could get rise out of them and get them banned. Like they jumped up and down over me and let me die then stole my gear. All while talking smack. Unprovoked. At any rate the 9 minute penalty got me not wanting to play a quick game cause I know it's a 50/50 chance I'm going be with someone who's going act vindictive and evil to their own teammates.
Im guessing they used voice and you used text to answer. That is text book luring to get something caught in the logs to report you. You know you can mute team 🙂 Much better feature. I learned to only use text chat for one thing... 'gg' Thats one isnt bannable 🙂
Dont let yourself get pulled into anything when the toxers come.
- @Zkepz Good advice. I've been OK with "nice" and "ty" so far! No one stays on the end screen long enough on console for gg's.
- @Zkepz i've had my incoming voice muted for months now
because of this.( I learned the hard way too) If i see the mics
flickering i'll usually just let them
know I keep my team muted.
A couple players have left as soon as I say it.
HOCUS POCUS TROLLS BEGONE!
