Heavy weapons in the past only slowed you down a lot, and I personally saw it this way too by experience, that getting hit with an R99, R301, vs a Flatline was clearly not the same, as well as when you also shoot someone with these 3 guns, how you can visibly see the difference.
I'm also talking about slowing down Half Speed, and sometimes barely moving.
I'm not talking about how it's always been, something has clearly changed in Season 12, or I am running into some sort of bug.
I dont know, I feel the same as before.. Just remember if you used to play caustic or gibby (fortified legend) and switched to something else that will be a varying experience, especially since they dont slow down when getting hit.
I think the rubberbanding youre experience might be a server issue not so much networking, this far I had stellar network connection to the Apex infrastructure but some games I get rubberbanding, in general it does not give you skill lag or bullet lag only movement lag.
@xpl0itsI feel the same sometimes when the connection is weird. And as cheese said, all bullets slow you the same. Heavy have never slowed you more.

My experience is similar.
When I shoot someone (Flatline, 301) I can put a half of clip into running enemy and they wont' slow down a bit. like not at all.
I have been in numerous fights where I shot someone with Flatline and they just jump all over and slide-jump immediately without losing any momentum.
No shooting seems to slow down some players.
When I am being hit by a Flatline it is like almost instant decrease in momentum.
So the main question here is how the same game can feel/behave differently for different players?
Well then there's a bug in this game in regards to Light vs Heavy, because I have always visibly seen someone I am shooting at with a Flatline move slower, than if I shot them with an R301, I actually see them slow down and stutter more.
I'm also not talking about Rubber Band lagging. When I'm getting hit now, I'm really slowing down a lot more, to the point it's hard to move and get out of the way.
I agree that this could be a combination of the network lagging at the time, the network/servers on this game have always been bad.
- @Cheese9Man I've always been skeptical of the slowdown, due to an apparent discrepancy. When I'm using any (non-fortified) Legend and take damage, I lose a lot of movement speed. On the flip side, I've never seen anyone noticeably slow down when I am damaging them. I would hope that they are being slowed down too, but it just doesn't appear that way, visually. I have no idea how it looks to my enemies, when I am slowed down though, so it might just be a visual thing? I've just always wondered, because I slow down a lot, but the slowdown isn't really noticeable when I'm the attacker.
Personally, it isn't enough for me to really care about. However, I do kind of wish they would just remove the slowdown, and add some form of concussion grenade to slow down/disorient humanoid Legends, and have arc stars offer the same slowdown effect on the machine/simulacrum Legends, or whatever their technically called. I'm sure it will never change, which I'm cool with. That's just my 2 cents on it Shoot someone with a Flatline next time, only 10 meters in front of you, you should see them slow down.
@PsyhiX69 @xpl0its @dSKyNafinchin I'm sorry for the late reply. The heavy bullets feel like they have a more "slowing" effect becuase a lot of the heavy weapons have huge magazine and a slower fire rate compared to their light and energy counterparts. The slowing effect only applies once every 3 seconds and the reason why you dont see such effect when spraying someone with a burst weapon like the R99 compared to the Rampage/Spitfire/Flatline with huge magazines that can last around more than 3 seconds especially with purple magazines. Hope I made sense. What the OP is experiencing though might be a mix of both server issues and the slowing down effect of the bullets. You can also feel the "slow effect" a lot when you're being shot down by the R301 and Hemlok in single fire mode and G7 scout.

- @xpl0its Cheeseman explained it well.
Well I guess just a lot of misinformation going around in the past.
Because if the game was based on more realism, then a Spitfire would slow you down more than a P2020.
Well, there's still some really odd slow downs going on now in Season 12...
@xpl0itsYeah the servers are definitely chugging recently on my end. Experiencing micro stutters from time to time even on Control mode and sometimes even rubberbanding. Now that I’ve finished the event and I’m busy at work, will have an apex break for a week or two. Lol.
And my friends who I play with constantly are also on an apex break since they’re on base PS4 and they said that they can’t play with the framerate issues.
I'm just playing Duos for now, maybe some of this also has to do with the network/servers lagging, regardless, there's something wrong here...
- @Cheese9Man Great info about the timing of it! I didn't know how long it lasted. I wasn't doubting that all bullets slow you down equally. It just gets confusing for me sometimes, when I am getting shot (by any gun) and am slowed down for what seems like way more than .25s every 3s, but when I am shooting people (with any gun), they don't seem to suffer from the slowdown, at least not visually. I'm guessing it's just a mixture of all the other variables though, like my own travel speed & direction, compared to the person I'm shooting and whatnot. Thanks again for the info!
Unless there is something in the latest Season 12 Patch Notes/Update, then something has seriously changed, effecting this problem.
I'm not talking about anything that we have all typically experienced in the past.
Nothing has ever happened like this until Season 12; EXTREME SLOWING DOWN!
- RaginSam4 years agoSeasoned Ace@xpl0its Just experienced this last game. Came to a complete standstill while getting shot in the back. Like couldn't move at all, locked in place.
There's a lot more to game than just the built in mechanics people aren't considering. It could be something do with the servers, hit reg, an exploit, straight up cheat, or some sort of network thing. I'm getting stuck on weird geometry, and I'm getting that slow slide a lot more than ever before.
