Re: Xbox one S Battlefield 1 won't launch

@iluminatethesky I just tried installing a small game like Roblox and tried to launch it and had the same problem as with battlefield 1.

    @vandebuurt98

    It could be a technical issue with your Xbox, if it's happening with other games as well.

    Is the Roblox game you tried to download a physical copy, or digitally from the Store?

    @iluminatethesky It's a digital free copy from the store, that's the annoying part. If it was obvious that it was something with the disk reader then I could simply get it replaced, right now it's looking like a major software isue (is what the support guy said but he really wasnt sure) and sending it for repairs to microsoft for that costs roughly 200 euros.

    @iluminatethesky Damn... I'm right now in a chat with xbox support, tried ea support but didn't help at all. Guy kept telling me to contact my ISP to open certain ports while I'm telling him that I can't even get to the point of selecting a game mode.

    Do you also think it's a software issue?

    Thanks for trying to help me out this far mate, really appreciate it!

    @vandebuurt98,

    At this point, I do believe it could be a software/technical issue within the Xbox, if you're having issues with digital games as well.

    It's not a Port/Connection issue, if the games themselves just crash to the home screen.

    The article I posted has a couple solutions, but it looks like you've tried a majority of them, from your original post.

    At this point, you may have to get a new Console, or keep contacting Xbox Support to see if there's anything else you can do.

    @vandebuurt98,

    I would recommend going through Microsoft themselves.

    Just let them know that any game you download/install, instantly crashes to the home screen when you try to launch them when the download finishes.

    The only other thing I can think of, is possibly getting an external drive, and seeing if you can install there and see if you have the same issue.

    @iluminatethesky Don't have one extra laying around, can I try it with a 128 GB usb drive or do I have to get 1 out of my pc?

    @ElliotLH I used a cloth that you get in the case when you buy good sunglasses

    @vandebuurt98 That'll be fine dude, they're perfect for it. I know it was a random post on my part lol - I used to be a manager for a manufacturer of cleaning tools so it just popped in to my head.

    Actually I think I had a similar problem to you but in reverse, as my SSD stopped loading BF1, and would just show the loading background. I installed the game on the internal drive and formatted my SSD, then moved BF1 back over and it worked. Trying a USB hard drive, like you've been talking about with iluminatethesky, might work out.
  • @ElliotLH I'll try it tomorrow, was in a chat with a tech expert from xbox support and he agreed that I should try this. Some other guy from support thought it was probably bad sections on my hard drive, oh yeah and little side note: every microsoft repair after warranty is 194 euros lol

    Have any of you tried doing this before? https://github.com/JW0914/Wikis/blob/master/XboxOne/Xbox%20One%20HDD%20Replacement.pdf or always by moving games from the console to external drive?

    And if its a hard drive error, any third party can fix this right?

    @vandebuurt98 That's good to hear so hopefully that works for you.

    I've had two Xbox consoles break on me (one OG and an S), but those were disc drive faults. I've haven't gone through those steps unfortunately so have only experienced moving games about and formatting my own external SSD using the Xbox when I had a problem. I think a third party could fix it potentially though and it probably would be cheaper than having Microsoft fix it.
