Re: Game rarely connects to EA server

Hi there, @Dcox202420 

I'd like you to power cycle your equipment with the following steps: unplug your modem/router and console. After 2 minutes plug in the modem/router. Let them come back online completely. Then plug in your console and start it up. If that doesn't help, let me know which console you're playing on and if a wired or wireless connection is being used. Thanks!

    That didn’t work. I’ve tried everything. I’ve reset my Xbox. I’ve reset my internet. I’m using wireless connection. I’ve also tried using wired connection. Nothing is helping. I think it’s the game itself or server one. I have no issues with any other game online. I’m playing on Xbox S by the way

  • There’s news all over the internet that EA’s servers can’t handle the amount of people playing. I’m having the same exact issue. Haven’t been able to play in over 24 hrs.

    As a test, try switching to a mobile hotspot. Let me know if you can connect through that or not. Thank you.

    Now I’m able to connect to the EA servers on my WiFi, but as soon as I try to join an online game it says “searching for an opponent” never puts me in a game. Then I can’t cancel out or anything. It just freezes. So I have to go to the Xbox home and quit the game because of it. It’s obviously some kinda bug within the game that needs fixed. Same thing with play with friends. Every time I get a lobby it freezes when I try to pick a team

    Did you connect on your home's wireless connection or the mobile hotspot I mentioned?

    @EA_Aljo So I just used my mobile hot spot. Sorry. It oddly it worked with 0 issues. So now can you tell me why mobile hot spot will work, but not my home WiFi please

    @Dcox202420 

    Since it works on a completely different connection, this would be an issue either with your home network or ISP. I recommend contacting your ISP to see if they can assist with that.

    @EA_Aljo But I have 0 issues with any other game. I play Fortnite, rocket league, nba 2K with no problems. So how could it be my internet. And I’m able to play some games on ncaa 25, but most the time it crashes or freezes online. So I’m thinking it’s a EA issue.

    Every game is different. Just because some work doesn't mean the issue is on our end. Also, in comparison to how many people are playing, there are a small number of reports from those that can't connect. If this was an issue on our end, we'd be seeing a far higher number of contacts about it. You can connect on a different network so this points to an issue with your ISP or network equipment.

    It's possible your save is corrupted. What console are you playing on?

    Try deleting the personal saved data for CF 25. It's possible you could lose any offline saves and changes to settings. Normally, those will download from the cloud, but I can't guarantee that will happen so perform this at your own risk. Go to Settings/Storage/System. Locate CF 25 and delete the saved data.

    @EA_Aljo Yea I hear what you’re saying, but doesn’t make sense to me that I can eventually connect to the ea sever but as soon as I get in a online lobby and waiting for a opponent it just never finds an opponent and eventually have to quit the game. I don’t see how that’s a internet problem

    It could very well be an internet issue since matchmaking is using your internet connection to find opponents.

  • No. It’s likely not an internet issue. This happens to me every time I play Madden no matter my location. I’m unable to connect to the servers as well.

    Also, it always asks me to reset my password. I e done it three times now and no change.

    Bro I hear you Ea trying to blame you , fix y’all’s mess period. It’s there servers , if it was your internet you wouldn’t be able to play other stuff. Smdh at Ea

    Yea I got att high speed and mine is fast. They need to just fix it,I played my 10 hours and had no issues. I haven’t even opened my ps5 copy yet, with all this bs going on, I’m not sure I want to. Until they fix this. Sad we waited years for another crappy college game .

    Speed doesn't matter when you can't connect. That's just how quickly data transfers back and forth. It has nothing to do with actually connecting. Again, since a completely different connection works, it's due to an issue with your ISP or equipment. Did you contact them?
