Game won't launch at all, ea app, ea Play Pro

Hello
I bought EA Play Pro mainly to play the new Dead Space. Exactly this game does not start however.
I've also tried other games e.g. Crysis Remaster which is running and another EA Play Pro game to rule out that this is an access issue.
I start Dead Space via the desktop icon or via the ea app.
The ea app minimizes and a small app loading bar appears saying the game is starting.
This now also disappears and nothing happens for 4 seconds.
Then the ea app maximizes again as if nothing had happened and again shows me that I can press play on the game.
In the task manager you can see that the game also appears for about 4 seconds after the loading bar of the ea app.
After that, however, it disappears again immediately, whereupon the ea app is maximized again, as described.

There is no error message or anything like that.
No problem with Deadspace.exe is recognizable in the Windows reliability indicator.
There is also no problem in the Windows Event Viewer at the time.

What I've tried

  • Provide admin rights to ea app & the game in various combinations
  • ea app reset/ cleared cache
  • repaired the game
  • redownloaded the game, reinstalled the app
  • uninstalled everything, cleaned regestry, deleted everything from ea and reinstalled everything
  • Background programs gradually disabled like overlays etc.
  • Exceptions created in the virus scanner and temporarily deactivated it completely
  • created a new Windows user to test whether this is the cause
  • Current GPU drivers, then rallback to older drivers, new drivers again
  • different hard drives & partitions as installation locations for both the app and the game (all internal SSDs)
  • uses the Windows system file checker tool
  • Removed all game controllers and headsets
  • HDR disabled, tried different resolutions & Hz
  • OC Settings to factory default
  • RAM stability and SSD health tests
  • rebooted dozens of times of course

PC:
- W11
- AMD R7 5800X3D
- AMD RX 6800XT
- 32GB RAM
- 3440x1440 165Hz monitor
- 850W power supply

I'm a little annoyed that the very game that was the reason I subscribed isn't working and I bet if I bought it on Steam it would work there.
So far I have already invested over 6 hours to get the game running. Without success...
The ea app now shows me that I played for 6 minutes.
Now you can calculate how many times I've tried to start it, if only 4 seconds are counted each time...

  • I found the Solution myself.

In a different language Answer HQ, someone had exactly the same problem back in February.
He solved it by installing the game on C:
That was the only partition I hadn't tried it on, because I don't want anything on it apart from the operating system
and it would be too small for most games.

Also, it's a SATA 600 SSD as opposed to my PCIE 4 M2 SSD that I install my games on.

So I just copied the game data to C: at first.
    No success.

Then I completely deleted the game and re-downloaded it to C:
And lo and behold! It works!
I've never come across that in 23 years of PC gaming.
There is something very strange going on here with the ea app, the game or
the DRM, which is always annoying for honest buyers, that I have never come across with any game or application.

It's a pity that these errors are apparently not documented across languages.
The problem is now described again in English. Maybe it will help someone in the future...

@JacoEEE I am not seeing much on the file that would indicate why it is closing as such. Typically indicates that Windows or another program is blocking it.

    Can you Disable the UAC
Turn it back on if it does not work

Put your device in a Clean Boot then launch the game

    @EA_Shepard
    Thanks for your answer.
    Unfortunately, disabling UAC didn't help.

Activating Clean Boot, as described in the linked article, initially caused the ea app to no longer start with the error message that the background process was not running.
So I re-enabled the ea background process.
The ea app starts again, but the game still doesn't run in cleanboot.

It just still doesn't work and I've spent almost three days of my rare free time on it 😕
I would be grateful for any other ideas.

@akru8 A lot of games and software don't like SSD drives for some reason. It has been looked at with game companies as well as CPU and GPU companies as well.
