Re: DA: Inquisition Sound Issues

So just to confirm... EA are ignoring this utterly game breaking bug and don't give a toss we paid for a game we can't play?

oh and update to this post...

I grabbed a sound sound card (asus xonar dg) and yeah didn't help a flip. The music and dialogue sounds better but I still can't walk 5 feet without horrid skipping in the sound fx. It's now offically been a week since launch and I have a game that is still unplayable.

SO. They're working on it? Few days over a year since you said that. Not fixed. So they ARE working on it? Or did i mistake a year for a pretty long time for a popping choppy replaying total PEICE of an audio issue. I dont use ANYTHING but my realtek hd sound manager, no piggyback programs. Just straight up DA:I has gone and shat its pants by leaving this here.

Well, @SadPandaEyes, you could try contacting EA instead of... whatever it is you're doing here (on the community driven, non-official technical help boards). You can't expect a company to fix every problem that affects a tiny, miniscule amount of players on a system with huge variations in hardware and software possibilities.
And no, they're not working on it. Pretty sure they're finished with DAI now. Again, no point complaining about that here, they don't look here. Contact them instead.

  • Hello,

I have problem with background sounds in 2 of my Origin games:

    - Dragon Age: Inquisition

    - Battlefield 1

In both of them sounds are on and off every few seconds.

Also in Battlefield 1 music tracks in main menu are skipping every few seconds to the next one.

I tried to install new sound card drivers from Gigabyte website but with no luck.

    My specs:

AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE

    GIGABYTE GA-990XA-UD3

    2x4GB DDR3 GEIL 1600, CL9, Veloce

    Sapphire AMD Radeon R7 260X

    Windows 10 64-bit.

Please let me know if there is any fix to this issue?

    Best regards.

  • I was having this same problem. I tried switching from Home Theater to TV and that did not help. I verified that the on-board audio in my BIOS was disabled and it was. I downloaded and installed the latest sound drivers for my Creative Sound Blaster Z from PAX at pax.hardwareheaven.com, which supposedly fixes problems with Creative drivers like I had. I have surround sound, so I setup the speakers with the mixer in Sound Blaster Z control panel. After I was through with that I turned up the sound, changed back to Home Theater and tried again. Now the sound is perfect! I hope this helps somebody because this problem is truly a pain!
